I don't think any of y'all have showed a Marlin 30-30. If you have one, hang on to it. When Remington/Ruger bought Marlin they stopped production. So, the Model 336 is stupid expensive now. Wish I still had mine.
My 1948 first year production 336 in 30-30. Traded some stooge a chi-com SKS for it several years ago.

How'd I do? ;)

Can I trade you an SKS for it?

Looks just like the one I had. I was early 20s when I got mine, and have no idea what year it was. I paid about $150 for it, and sold it for about $175. I also had a Ruger 7mm Mag that I bought and sold for $225.

Taking a quick look online, shows these to be going for at least a grand. When Obama took office, they were going for $350-$500 around here. And they were only that high because all guns went up when people thought they were going to get "outlawed".

The one Hannibal on the A TEAM had was a select fire fully auto mini 14 called the AC 556. Very sought after and they command a large price. . . .
So, I went to Ruger.com to see what Mini-14s were going for. . . . . msrp is $1,229. And that's just the ordinary Ranch Rifle. The one y'all have. . . . I can only imagine. It seems like not very long ago they were only $500-$600.

For those of y'all that like to carry a pistol with you when you travel, but don't like leaving it in the car when it's not allowed in certain places, Tuffy makes excellent lockboxes for them. Here's the one in my Jeep, but they make them for most trucks and some SUVs. I suspect that all the employees have had their vehicles used to make some of the boxes, 'cuz there are a few odd vehicles on their list. They're not theft proof, but it's going to take the right tools and a good amount of time to get the box. And almost impossible to breach the box in place.

The Ruger "Factory Folders" were rare. The stainless steel factory folders were a little bit more rare. The SS factory folder Ranch Rifles were even more rare. The Ruger factory folders will always have the gas block staked with the sling mount on the left side of the rifle and not on the bottom. There are a lot of fakes out there, but the side mount staked sling mounts only came from the factory. I have an original SS Factory Folder Ranch Rifle, but at the time I bought it, it was nothing special and I just thought it was a cool looking rifle. I shot one twenty round mag through it and put it in the safe. To the right collector, my Mini 14 should be worth around three to four grand.

That's different, not an Uncle Mikes for sure. Not as low profile or quick disconnect as I'd like.

Colt Dragoon? I've got a Second Model. Came down through the family in some convoluted way. Wish it was shootable.

Santa brought me a new room broom. Smith and Wesson M&P 12 . Dual tubes hold 14 2.75, 12 3 inch or 20 mini shells. Pretty cool, guess I have been good this year. The dropped trigger guard shows it is empty.

I've seen those. Want one. I keep trying to get my boys to get me one for Christmas, my birthday, or any other reason I can think of.

I also like the looks of the DP-12. I think the DP was the first of this style. The DP has two trigger pulls for each racking of the slide and hold 2 more rounds. The DP is a couple of hundred dollars more than the S&W.

Kel-Tec has their version, but a buddy of mine that has one says it kicks like a mule. Apparently, that might be a Kel-Tec trait. We had a compact 9mm that had ridiculous recoil.

Folks have been showing old timers & I was in the safe...

OLD

Winchester New Haven 1860 octagonal barrel.

OLDER mix

Three Smiths and an undated "Young America Double Action" in upper left.

OLDEST - Potsdam
Love the Colt and the Potsdam. Friend has got many blackpowder guns we shoot regularly. Great technology in the old days, respect for the engineering with limited technology.

Older - It's the Colt Walker designed in 1846 and only 1100 were made before the Dragoon.

To the right (if pic is held correctly) is a Smith Model 2 from 1876.

I'm pretty sure the Walker didn't have a latch for the loading lever and it had a square trigger guard. Doesn't look like a Dragoon either. Hmm, all the early ones had round barrels. There was a Confederate knock off Dragoon that had that slab sided look. The blast shield behind the nipples was slab sided too. Looking over my paperwork mine is a Third, it's got the round trigger guard.
