I should have mentioned, Hackberry Rd and CR 2631 were the dirt portions of my trip.

Much more recon needed ::024::

The stuff I'm familiar with is all North of Kerrville. There's lots of stuff south of Llano and Mason / east of Junction, but I haven't really made it out there yet.

Some more careful TWTex forum exploring would probably turn up some ideas.

I'm up for a weekend or two of dirty recon sometime, with a Saturday campout.

been there ma few time over the years and they have two campgrounds , one down by the river and the other used to be a little more remote and better for larger groups if open.
The Mini cabins are great for hot or cold weather
I didnt have the Tenere so wasnt looking for dirt at that time but really nice relaxing area

Nice dirt road for sure "Hackberry Rd" . You just have to watch out for the last water crossing going from south to north to 41. For some reason it is not like the others and has collected a number of riders. Don't ride in the auto tire tracks as the other crossings. If not sure about a crossing I always dismount and check the traction with rubbing my boot on the concrete under the water. I have seen some nasty fast falls on the slick stuff.

Is there a firm date set for this trip? I did not read every page of the post but very interested in attending.

I think it's the weekend of March 21. That's what I last saw was the date.

The weather's kinda tough in Colorado right now, but Man! Texas in late March sounds great, if I can break out ... gonna try it. Now's the time to get the heated grips from Santa on the S10. Think I'll try a Kerrville-Schreiner park mini-cabin. Anyone else from Colorado? I'll be starting from Longmont...

Hey Tony,

Pretty good chance Anthony (keeponriding) and I are headed that way. We're both in Louisville.

Broke my Tenere in down in Texas Hill country last February and had a blast. I'll be thinking about how to make this work.

Heading out of Virginia for a 7 month ride out West, Texas Hill Country sounds like just what I need on my way to San Diego.
I'll keep my eyes on this while my March start date gets closer. Thanks, Jerry

Darn won't be able to make it. Have an old friend coming out from the east coast. Going to meet him in San Diego for a few days. Don't feel bad it's not like I'm working or anything.

Time to bump this up. I know Dallara has arranged hotel for the non campers. There have been a few posts on where we campers might congeal. Anything definitive? If not I would be willing to look into it.

Hey, Folks!

I subscribe to this thread so I got an email notification of this last post above and thought I better pop in here to bring folks up to speed.

I've been incredibly busy since early November... working, traveling, family, holidays, more work, more traveling, etc.... and honestly just haven't had the time to keep up with the forum or do any posting here. That doesn't mean anything has changed with the "Super Tenere Spring Texas Hill Country Ride"! It's all still a "GO", dates are all the same, and the Y.O Ranch Resort is still the central HQ for folks to meet at. However, I have not made any arrangements for camping, as some here in the thread had their own favorites in the area for that. Hopefully they will chime in and give their recommendations and experiences.

I checked with the Y.O. just a few days ago, and all but a couple of our initial block of rooms have been reserved. Still, there are some left, and my contact there said if we needed a few more it shouldn't be a problem as long as people got their reservations in right away. So, if you are interested in one of the rooms at the Y.O. please send me a PM as soon as possible, complete with your full name, contact info like e-mail address & cell phone number, as well as your planned arrival and departure dates, and I will send you the group booking code you need to give the Y.O. if you want to get the group deal and have your room where the other riders will be blocked and all the good parking is.

I am working on several different pavement routes for each day, but so far haven't done any work on the off-pavement rides. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated, and hopefully people who have lots of experience off-pavement in the area will post up the roads, etc. they like best so we can start getting a consensus on what kind of riding most folks would like. I'm doing my best to try and include all the best pavement roads in the area (Triple 3's, Hwy 16, 55, etc., etc.), but would love to hear other riders familiar with the area who will be in attendance voice their favorites, too.

I will be arriving in Kerrville either Wednesday night or Thursday morning, and will be departing for home on Monday, so anyone else planning to be "in early" or "out late" please let me know and I will try to put together some routes for those days, too, and will build them depending on how many want to do some riding on those days.

And don't forget, any brand or type of bike is welcome, so don't let your buddies think they can't join us... ;) And any of you guys who don't have a Tenere yet, but are thinking about one, this would be a great ride to go to where you could meet plenty of folks who have 'em. Sure to see just about any farkle you might be interested in, too, and with any luck you might even be able to convince a proud owner to let you ride theirs! ::001::

I'll try and get more info up here soon as possible. My schedule is clearing up a bit, so hopefully I will be able to answer any questions quicker, too. So let's get this thread rockin' and rollin' with what you guys want to see at this ride!

Looking forward to meeting you all in March! ::003::

We are going to RV at Medina Highpoint Resort.

It was called Koyote Ranch. He may have sold it or changed the name? They also have tent camping. They are about 15 miles south of Kerrville.
