Re: Texas Hill Country Super Tenere Rally - Spring 2014

It looks like BaldKnob and I are going to make it to this ride. Put us down for a 2 queen bed non smoking room please. We plan to arrive Thursday the 20th and leave Monday the 24th, so 4 nights. Thanks

Edit: We are also mostly interested in riding dirt, but some nice twisty roads don't hurt either!

Latest tentative room list:

- Kidder
- Bugkiller
- Texas Country Rider
- Bappo
- Dirt Dad
- Snuffcityrider
- MChappy
- Fredz43
- 88millimeter
- Oilfield Trash
- IceCold Dan & BaldKnob (in one room)
- William42
- Coastie
- Dirtdigger570
- Dallara

Just for the record, at the moment I have only 15 rooms "blocked" at the Y.O. Ranch Resort, and very shortly (probably in about a week or so) I will be posting the reservation code to get the room discounts for the ride. At that point it will be up to each person (or persons if more than one will be rooming together) who want a room to make their guaranteed reservation, with their own credit card, to hold the room. I'm sure they will book more rooms over the 15 I have blocked *IF* they are locked down soon enough. As usual folks will be responsible for their own cancellations, etc. and hopefully we can keep any cancellations like that in the *pool* of rooms, though as it gets closer to the ride that will be less and less likely. March is a busy, busy month for the Y.O., so we can't expect them to hold rooms for too long.

To put it in a nutshell, lock your room down early if you want one, so watch the thread here for specific instructions on how to get one for the discounted rate.

Thanks!

Dallara

We are coming! Going to drag the RV though and camp. Most likely at Kerrville-Schreiner's State Park, which (I think) about 4 miles from the YO.

Been updating the hotel list above as folks have chimed in with room requests, but wanted to ask one more time for those interested but *NOT* shown on the list to post up or PM me here quick so I can get an estimate for the final size room block we may need. I have to get back in touch with the Y.O. Ranch Resort this week to tack at least the estimate down, get the discount code number for our group, etc.

More info will be posted as I get it, but it would really help to let me know if you want a room there for the ride ASAP. Remember, no obligation or deposit needed. We just need a count.

Thanks!!! ::008::

Thanks Dallara,

We are going to do the RV thing like rlasater. Not sure of our camp location yet but plan on doing this meet. Sounds like a fun time for sure. ::001::

It looks like the Concho National Enduro is the same weekend, so we'll probably come up Thursday, then head up there on Sat afternoon and race Sunday.

Just ran 377 at 4AM Saturday morning as part of the BigTex Rally. I had the road absolutely to myself. It was a great ride! Lots of great roads in that neck of the woods.

I just returned from the Motorcycle Sport Touring Association rally there at the Y.O. and had a great time! Count me in with a single room.

OK, Folks.

Here's the latest info on the Spring Texas Hill Country Rally & Ride...

I've been working with my contact at the Y.O. Ranch Resort Hotel (http://www.yoranchhotel.com/) and they have now blocked 20 rooms for us for the dates of the ride. The ride dates are right in the middle of their peak season so I feel pretty lucky that we got this many rooms blocked. Of course, it does mean I will be signing a contract with them today, but that's not a problem.

Here's the rate info (and these are all for standard rooms, no suites, etc.)...

One King bed or Two Queen beds *WITHOUT* breakfast coupon, as follows:
Single Occupancy: $89 per night
Double Occupancy: $89 per night
Triple Occupancy: $99 per night
Quad Occupancy: $99 per night

One King bed or Two Queen beds *WITH* breakfast coupon, as follows:
Single Occupancy: $99 per night
Double Occupancy: $99 per night
Triple Occupancy: $109 per night
Quad Occupancy: $109 per night

Check-in time is denoted as 4:00pm, but I have been assured that earlier check-in times shouldn't be a problem, and they never have been for me in the past. That said, check-out time is 12:00 noon, and they are pretty strict about that... They have to be in order to have rooms ready for others to check-in by 4:00pm.

Note that we have these rooms blocked for the dates as follows - checking in on March 21, 2014 and checking out March 23, 2104. That's Friday and Saturday nights, however the hotel will honor these same room rates for check-in dates as early as Wednesday, March 19, 2014 and check-out dates as late as Tuesday, March 25, 2014 should any wish to arrive early before the main group or leave late after the rally/ride.

Needless to say, *ALL* reservations will have to be made on each individual's own credit card, etc., and for this ride these reservations will best be made by calling in to the hotel, though it will be possible to make them online... and this leads to an important note:

Shortly I will have the "Group Discount Code" that you will need to guarantee these rates and to assure you will have a room blocked with the group, any designated parking, etc. I figure the best way to give this "Group Discount Code" out is via PM or e-mail, but I will post more details on that in the next week or so. Once you have this code I recommend you contact the hotel immediately if you want a room and lock it down. You can always cancel it later, with no obligation, if necessary, and the quicker folks make their reservations the easier it will be to see if we need more rooms and have a chance of getting them if needed.

Regarding cancellations... You have up until 72 hours prior to your reservation check-in to cancel, but you must get a cancellation confirmation from the Y.O. at that time to assure you do not incur any charges.

Again, I'll have more information to follow in the next few days, but I thought I should get this out there. Please let me know if you have any questions... either by posting here or via PM. Shortly I will be asking for e-mail addresses so we can put together an e-mail list to exchange information about the ride.

Thanks! ::008::

Just a quick update...

Got the signed and confirmed contract back today from the folks at the Y.O. Ranch Resort, and we are locked in for up to 20 rooms at the rate I posted previously. You guys that want a room at the Y.O need to PM me with your email and other contact info so you can get the group booking code so you get the good rooms - i.e. blocked with all the other riders, ground floor with direct access to bikes, preferred parking, etc.

I know it seems a long way off, but the quicker we can get it all done the better in case we need more rooms for more riders. Let's hope we have large turnout! ::001::

Thanks!

Re: Texas Hill Country Super Tenere Rally - Spring 2014

Looks like a great group of riders, and a great part of the State to visit and ride. I'd love to say sign me up. Unfortunately, March is basketball tournament time and there's no guarantee that I will be free that weekend (and if hoops is over, there's almost certainly another sport stepping up and taking my time :'( In other words....this is probably the wrong month for me.
