Personaly, i would go with a hi- fender with the 21" wheel...
The stock fender seems a bit too small...
Just saying
Yeah… not sure what to do..
I’m not convinced about the high fender in the ST. It must be fixed a bit low to avoid the side panels when turning the steering and I don’t like it much. Also I don’t like the reactions of a high fender at a high speed in the freeways…
I’m starting with the OEM, is the easy way, and meanwhile I can decide… perhaps I’m going to try with an extension in it… We’ll se... ::003::

Friday I was in the manufacturer (Uni Racing) to collect the new decal kit for the ST. I asked for a vinyl to protect the windshield from scratches when I ride in the forest, this is the result:

Is the same material we use to make the side tank protections. Very strong.

They also develop some rim protections

I like the look of the low fender if u can raise it enough to keep mud from building up. Im curious to see a skid plate that the 21" with fresh tire doesn't get into. You've got a good sponsor I'm sure they will figure something out. Lucky YOU

I raised the fender the maximum I can. It's a bit higher than in the OEM position.
The skid plate is a challenge, when I finish the wheel I'm going to take the bike to ACD to see if they can modify the skid plate to fit the wheel…. Hope so!! ???

I'm curious.
With the bigger diameter wheel and knowing that an occasional rock will be carried up behind it, wouldn't it be worth remotely mounting the oil filter elsewhere?

Yeap! that's my next project, but first I need to modify the skid plate to the new wheel. ::)
Then, with the skid plate fixed I would like to do something with this bloody filter...

I have the bike at the dealer and was at home without work (wife was busy!! ;)) So I've been doing some holes in the boring plastic cover on the right.
So far I've done one but I think I'll add another ....

Looks really nice, I like the fender low the way you have it and I don't think it looks small, it's like some of the Dakar rally bikes.

really great job.

all the modification parts could buy a new S10. :)
Well... it wasn't so expensive and I'm very pleased with the result ::012::

I've been able to do a proper test to the 21" wheel:
It has lost a bit of stability in highway at high speed but in slow windy roads it is even better. Overall loss is minimal.
In off road is impressive, the big wheel and the upgraded suspensions make the ST very agile. More technical is the track better it works, it was a big fun!!
Also, the 3cm more of ground clearance make it much more difficult to hit the bash plate. I was with a colleague with a standard ST and feel the difference.

I had to lower the seat a little as I had trouble reaching the ground. An artisan in Barcelona modify it not only in high also width. The new shape and a non slide material on top avoids slip forward as in the OEM seat. He made a work of art.

That seat looks nice. I'm going to do somthing simmilar to mine. I've been a seat customizer for many year and need to tweak mine for my skinny butt. :D

I ride it yesterday and find it more comfortable than stock, probably because they reduce the foam in the middle and both sides, so is not a flat surface than it was before.
And is a lot cheaper than buy one of these very expensive after market seats.

Jaime, are your skid pan people going to work up something to clear that 21" tire? Kind of a shame to loose that beauty.

You’re right… I don’t want to loose this beauty. :'( I’ve saw the new ones in titanium colour and are great!

They made some mods but it still touching the wheel.
So, they need to work more in it but they are very busy because they have customers waiting to the orders, I am pleased because I know how much time they put in this project and now they need to recover the investment… if they sell what I help to develop I can ask for more goodies… like crash bars or panniers… ;) >:D

I’m not in hurry, I am decided to change the oil filter position and once I’ve done it then I modify the skid plate in consequence. ::003::

Re: Super Ténéré 1200 OFF ROAD preparations and experiences thread.

I've made some suspension adjustments and fix a new tire in front (Metzeler Unicross 90/01/21) which is higher than the TKC. Now the ground clearance with the ACD skid plate is nearly 24cm. I measured a new bike with the OEM skid plate and is about 18cm. I’m very please, It improves more than 5cm the ground clearance.
More than this high could be difficult to me, now I can only just reach the floor.
My old GSA with long suspensions was 23 and the KTM 990 is 26.

Tomorrow I'm going to try this Unicross on the front and a Mitas E10 rear. As you can see is nearly identical than a Karoo T.
Mitas on the left:

I need a hard tire to go to Morocco. TKC's and Karoo's are too soft.

That's a big cut in your skid plate.

Bike looks awsome as usual JaimeV :p
Yes... but is not enoug.. the wheel still touching where the arrow is

I'm going to modify the plate cutting it more in the front and adding some aluminium in the sides. Something like this
