Woah now... back up a bit.

I'm ONLY taking the trailer bullet for Firefight.
If this turns into a trailerfest, well that's more than I was bargaining for.

How much space is there in that camping area anyways?

As for flying Trevor in, what a great idea!
I can bring my KLX and he can ride my BEAST! In fact, I'd be honored!

Killer idea DD

Funny, Dirt_Mom and I were just talking yesterday about trailering the Teneres to some far away place to save more time for riding. It's only a thought right now, but it was actually discussed as a legitimate option. This is a bit eerie.

Trevor, see what you started? I think we had a total of 7 that first year. This year looks to really be snowballing. Glad to have Checkswrecks help with the shirts and the ride leader info. You know if you decide to fly in for this I'm sure we can get you a ride from the airport. Hell, I bet Romney would so happy to see you they might even scrounge up a bike for you to ride. What do you say, should we hold a camping spot for you?
Trevor can ride either my S10 or my WR or both....just not at the same time! If it works out, I'll offer to pick him up if it aligns with schedules. I'll have my truck, after all. ::012::

OK, I'm one step closer! Just bought the wife's plane tickets and confirmed my time off. I'll be driving the truck out with the Tenere and prolly the WR as well. Going to be almost three weeks of exploring for our retirement place, riding, and having fun with the family. I'd be riding there and back otherwise. Careful, those who don't know and chose to toss a jibe my way for "trailering" the S10. You clearly don't remember my 21 day 8300 mile trip back there which kicked off with an Iron Butt 50CC. ::024:: I need the truck for family hauling duty and all the other stuff I have planned with the wife and daughter!

Se you guys/gals there!!! ::015::
Ha Great Phil! You and the girls are gonna love it! Actually thinking back, you stopped in at Romney on your 50CC didn't you? So you know where you're going at least. Camping is right out the back of the store.

Great offer mate, really appreciate the offers of transport and bikes from everybody, but according to my current schedule (which of course is always subject to change!) I'm due in Pakistan around that time. So couldn't really be much futher away if I tried!

As for "what I started" - you give me too much credit. It was really Larry and Kev's idea, they asked me what I thought and I said "yeah, I think I can round up a few guys". They did the rest. Pretty easy really! You have a much bigger job now :D

It's not that big a job for me. Larry, Kevin and the rest of the staff still do all the work. For the most part I just let people know what's coming. None of this happens without Kevin thinking he wants to keep it going and growing. He's a low key guy, but you can tell he really gets a charge out of hosting every year.

Just park the bike at some US friendly site in Pakistan and jump on a military flight back. We can pick you up and Andrews. ;D

As for trailers at Romney, it's a common sight. We've had everything from giant 5th wheel toy haulers, to Honda Civics pulling enclosed trailers.

Have you been watching the latest season of Homeland? There ARE no US-friendly sites in Pakistan! ;)

Yup. Romney handled all my East coast needs for my Super T. They went WAY above and beyond!! Looking forward to it.

Well, damn it!!! After all the mental commitment and anticipation over the past few weeks for a trip back up to my old stomping grounds of the Potomac Highlands in WV ... I am out for Romney this May. DOH!!! :'(

I just received my schedule for Spring semester and I have a final exam on Monday May 4th. While it would be fun to go and ride for three days, I feel that it would not be conducive to successful completion of the semester's work. I am gonna poke around with the faculty and see if there are any options to adjust the calendar for me so that I can move the exam fwd or back to accommodate the trip, but I am not holding out much hope.

I will once again have to live vicariously through the posts of pics and tall tales here at the forum.

Gotta be about the most legit excuse for missing an event. So you get no grief from me.

But crap. Bummer. That sucks. Tough luck.

fredz43, Just Tuesday I rode some more roads I would love to show you guys on the "trek" between Helen to Romney. These roads will twist your arse off! Hope you are up for it.
BTW... the same weekend as Helen there is a gathering at Iron Horse... not sure which I will do yet. Iron Horse is near Deals Gap so not bad there either. I'm bummed they are the same weekend.

I might be out riding my Super Tenere'

Sounds great, Brick. I'm not familiar with roads in that area, so any you can show us would be appreciated.
