My heated grips arrived today! Below are a few pictures. I hope this helps somebody else out there..
I order from Twisted Throttle , just took a few days to arrive. The contents of the box contained some simple instructions, the two grips, assorted hardware for the optional bracket for the heat controller, glue, the wire harness and the "control box". I used the compressed air trick to get the OEM grips off (thanks for the tip). They came off without a hitch. If i ever choose to go back to them Ill will be able to use them again.
Picture of the Oxford Grip next to the OEM:
Need to do something about the small white stripe left by the throttle tube. This will drive me crazy. You also need to be careful when you put the grips on. You do not want the brake or clutch to not be able to be closed completely because of the wire coming out of the grip.
Clutch side grip. I used the supplied glue that came with the kit. Set pretty quick.
This is the small "control" box. I used some industrial velcro and placed to the right of the battery. The box has 2 cables coming out. One that goes to the battery and the grips and One that goes to the off/on/temp control. There is plenty on wire to route the cables.
I'm waiting on a package of the male "ends" for the OEM Aux cable. Ill connect the grips to it. For now I plugged directly into the battery for testing. They heated up very quick. I think they will compliment the Hippo Mitts very well in the cold weather, and during the spring and fall will make the chilly days comfortable. All and all very happy for the $79 i have invested in them. I also need to find a good location for the on/off/heat control box. Ill play with that more in the morning.
