I tried to reset my trip meter after filling the tank. Left button press - no change, no cycle through the trips to the odometer. It looks like a failed switch. Has anyone had experience of servicing/replacing these switches?
Unplug it and plug it in again and it will default to odometer only ( no trip and no clock adjustment but all else works)The Ferret said:Mine went in January after 24000 miles.
I'm stuck on trip mileage and calculating my mileage to the next service. It wouldn't be so bad if it was the other way round. I suspect from what I've seen on the forum its not just a simple switch failure. I'm not in the mood to fork out £500 either!
No, they don't fix the button; it is listed as a non-serviceable item. New console required. In any case, I opened mine up and circuit tested the switch which was OK. The problem is in the electronics. It may be coincidence but mine failed immediately after I disconnected and reconnected the battery. Voltage spike or something? Anyone else remember the circumstances of their failure? I checked out the 2014 console - sorry - no way.emreturkeli said:What a luck!!
I just had the same problem 3 days ago, and was wondering if that's a specific case for my bike or a generic failure. The bike is brand new 2013 model and the odometer is at 11.000 KM only, I started the warranty procedure, but knowing that this will happen again and again is not a comforting news...
Also a question for your first fix, did they fix the button somehow, or changed the Heads up Display completely?
PS: I wish there was a way for implementing the 2014 dashboard... O
