On a side note. I was talking to my dealer, the AT will only have ABS on the DCT model. Base models will not get ABS, not in Canada anyways ???Big Blu said:I'd say the new AT is more adventure bike then the ST, lighter weight, proper wheel size, more ground clearance, more suspension travel., etc.....
As for the FZ-07..... Yamaha chose to turn it into a competitor to the Ducati Scrambler, YUCK .

I reckon that l'll be trying one just to satisfy my curiosity, I'll not be buying one though cos my S10 is just too good ::008::Rasher said:Going to test one, but with no rel off toad options in UK I reckon a tracers is more Likely to join my collection next.
I was told the ABS is standard on both bikes. And it will be priced lower than the S10greg the pole said:On a side note. I was talking to my dealer, the AT will only have ABS on the DCT model. Base models will not get ABS, not in Canada anyways ???
Add to that the typical high honda price, tubed tires, and no center stand...I'd sooner buy a 1190R than the honda. Tubeless, centerstand, powerrrrr....and hopefully a sorted airbox ::025::
As for the FZ07....don't know what the hell they were thinking...flannel shirts are popular now...quick get on the beardist band wagon.
That said, the 7 has the sweetest little motor. Perfect fuelling, and it would make an excellent choice for a proper dp bike
Not bad. so in Canadian tire dollars about $16250 for the basemarkjenn said:US pricing is out, $13K for the base (which DOES include ABS and traction control - earlier info from Honda was confusing and incorrectly parsed) and the DCT version is a $700 bump.

Not shocked by those thoughts from you. In many ways it appears it will be more in-tune with your riding intentions and style. I'm also curious about the bike. For the reasons you mentioned I don't see myself making a switch, but I suspect it will be an impressive bike.trikepilot said:As much as it pains me to admit such sacrilege... but the Africa Twin could very well be a better candidate for the TBDBITW.
If there is a skid plate and crash bar setup available by next June before I hit the TAT - Fancy very well might go on the chopping block.
I guess I'll ping Rumbux about the possibilitytrikepilot said:If there is a skid plate and crash bar setup available by next June before I hit the TAT - Fancy very well might go on the chopping block.
You have to hand it to Honda, that is a very enticing video. Love the way they make it look like a lightweight play bike. Lots of power sliding and wheelies everywhere. Flips all the right switches to make me want to start waving my wallet to get Honda's attention.trikepilot said:Also found this interactive video
Ha!!! I would definitely give a very strong first priority to a Rumbux protection system if I ever cross that bridge.EricV said:I guess I'll ping Rumbux about the possibility
He'll take two. He tends to go through them.trikepilot said:Ha!!! I would definitely give a very strong first priority to a Rumbux protection system if I ever cross that bridge.
This is a seriously well done video. My hats off to Honda marketing on this one. It would have to be a really big glut of money, though, because I can think of a couple other bikes I'd want before I wanted the Africa Twin.Dirt_Dad said:You have to hand it to Honda, that is a very enticing video. Still don't see it replacing my Tenere, but if I all of a sudden find myself to a glut of money, ... ... well, that was a very enticing video.
Stunning thought provoking, intense.trikepilot said:
great video, wondering how skilled the riders were...probably quitetrikepilot said:Ran across the new video promo for the Africa Twin - not much substance to the promo (err... porn) but a pretty bike nonetheless.

So I went down the rabbit hole of Africa Twin speculative web postings. Yikes! There went 2 hours!!!
I will definitely go see if I can get a test ride on one. Now, if some shop would give me a "proper" offroad test ride - I am pretty sure that I would cross the Rubicon on selling Fancy. As much as it pains me to admit such sacrilege... but the Africa Twin could very well be a better candidate for the TBDBITW.
Yes... I hear all the bellyaching on tubed tires, chain, and other aspects from many here. But the lower curb weight, the 21" front tire, ABS/TC off switch, similar range, and the difference of 0.004 in HP/weight all really want me to go thrash this thing in the dirt. If there is a skid plate and crash bar setup available by next June before I hit the TAT - Fancy very well might go on the chopping block.

Hey - now, wait a minute... I resemble that comment.Dirt_Dad said:He'll take two. He tends to go through them.
Have you been talking to Dirt_Mom? You sound just like her.trikepilot said:So for most who use their Teneres as principally a touring machine - the Africa Twin is not going to be a replacement.

That is excellent technology! However, I doubt it can be used as a 'run flat' tyre due to the fact that should a sharp object, a nail for example, puncture the tyre and stays there until complete air loss, that nail would then puncture the Tubliss inner tyre and you would be back to square one.......spklbuk said:
