Here you go...

I guess this is how the bike would be parked if we had some futuristic, no gravity, space scooter... ;) This is how the bike is sitting now because we are now an official Ohlins dealer, and already off to have the magic performed on them with new test parts. We are going to stick a set of these in there and start riding them...

Its still early, but will be posting reports on the new units. Ohlins is committed to the Tenere and we are proud to work with them. Hopefully by the first of the year we will be offering two separate custom tuned fork kits for the front end and the completely tunable rear Ohlins rear shock.

~ Rear shock
~ Cartridge kit
~ Valve / spring kit

If you have any question feel free to let me know. We are going to offer great pricing for the Tenere crowd ! Call me...........

so the units for the front forks what are they? ???
looks like a new spring, dampner, and rod thingie? (I know real technical I am ::013::)

I was under the impresion that the ST had a pretty decent front end ( a bit stiff and harsh), but not lacking any adjustment

These are the Ohlins full replacement cartridge kit. Custom spring for rider, custom valving, new cartridge, Etc. The factory does have full adjustment suspension but lacking in many areas.
Ohlins will also have a spring and valve kit in the works.

Would be good hear (read) your feedback.

I wonder if YAMAHA will ever be allowed to charge enough to put Super premium suspension ion the bike on the future.

Maybe they should have bought all of Ohlins.

Anyway, I think they did a better job than Triumph. That bike was better than the Strom but did tend to get the chatters on rough stuff, which wasn't helped by the side stand clattering away either.

Both bikes felt great after the Strom though and that was the one with the "better" suspension. ???

Exactly the same as they're worth landed at the Gathering in Colorado in June! Swap and ride.

Probably not, but we are stepping forward to do the home work and get the parts made and available.. So anyone that wants the Ohlins experience on there Tenere can give us a shout...

There are several factors involved, there are no hard numbers yet. We should have the full kit available the first of the year...

you will get what you pay for though, ohlins makes some nice stuff,
i'm guessing this will be a plug and play thing for the front forks,
new oil, cartridge goes in, securedy by the bolt at the bottom of the fork,
presto

Yes, if a customer wants the full cartridge this is correct. If they go with the spring / valve its not a 'drop in'...

Sounds like Traxxion/Penske/Stoltec offering.

Drop in cartridges from Traxxion run ~$1k-1200. Valve kits from Stoltec run ~$600 installed with springs I believe.

This is EXCELLENT news for the Tenere. Ohlins makes some sweet setups. I am sure they will be pricey, but once you ride a Tenere with REAL suspension you quickly forget about your lighter wallet!

If you could handle changing a fork seal, you could swap a cartridge kit. Doing your own valves is significantly more tricky.

Valves really don't bother me, the only issue might be
Access, as the engine sits nicely nestled in the frame, and the chain driven cam,
Is allways a bit trickier to work on vs gear driven (if new shims are needed)
the cartridge is tricky to take apart
Near the top, need some special Yamaha tool to make the job
Easier.

OK I'll bite. You mean fork valves not engine valves right? 8)
