I was holding out for the black Altriders, but the Givi bars look like the bee's knees. Unobtrusive, look good and priced very competively. Just ordered figuring someone's going to figure out they are underpriced. Hope there sturdy, my bike tends to take lots of dirt naps ::025::

I like that word for describing the Givis. It’s exactly what I thought. There’s another brand called R&G on TT that I thought was unobtrusive too, but don’t think I read much on 'em in here. Here’s a photo with the black bars against the black panels.

Cool Rod, looks like these have gotten really popular recently. Mine should be here in a week or so too.

I ordered my bars from Revzilla.com for $160 delivered.
I don't know about the highway pegs. I am sure there are a number of options there.

I got mine from Amotosuff. If you are a member of ADVrider, you can apply for a forum discount of 10%. Mine came to $152 delivered.

Givi instructions are not always the best. First thing they "show" you in the steps is to remove the OEM guards. Next is to install the actual bars on each side. Next was the small cross-support bar and the large plates that attach to the motor-mounts. Things would not go together (even with all the hardware loose) and I found it necessary to install the large plates (and cross-support bar) BEFORE installing the actual bars.

Had one small scratch on one bar that I will touch up with a felt pen.

They look GREAT on the bike IMHO

By the way the GIVI crash bars work fine. I tested them on a concrete slime covered water crossing on Saturday doing about 15 mph. I was down so fast I had no time to even take my feet off the pegs. I left 2 gouges in the concrete about 5 feet long, one from the crash bar the other from the home made alum. pannier bottom forward corner. Not a scratch on the bike or me, the handle bars did not touch the ground. The concrete was so slick you could hardly stand up or walk on it. The crash bars are heavy at 15 lbs but worth it. The guy riding behind said it made a very loud crash sound then a loud scraping sound, and he had his bike running with helmet and ear plugs in. The left side of the bike looks more exposed, I think I will cut off the side stand knob just beyond where the spring attaches and get or make a folding shift lever like the dirt bikes have, then I should be good to go. I had full camping gear in the bags and could not pick the bike up myself without help, I am 205 lbs and not a wimp. I think it would be good to find some grass and figure out how to pick this thing up before heading out on your own, Im sure without the bags I could have done it.
