Hi blocke, those Givi bars look great and like them better than all the others. I wanted to ask you if you believe highway pegs can be installed on these bars, in a way that you can comfortably place your feet and relax your legs. After looking at your pictures I’m not so sure. Thanks
i'll be honest its not something ive thought about im happy with the stock pegs where the are and i never really thought of putting cruiser pegs on it but im willing to take other pics etc if it helps

I just wanted your opinion as to the possibility of installing the pegs since you have the bars on your bike and I don’t. On long rides I like to change the position of my legs for a little while and stimulate blood circulation.

you could mount something on the lower part at the front altho i think maybe your feet might be too high but if its just for relief i don't see why it wouldn't work

I have put highway pegs on all my bikes since doing some LD riding, I use them as a break in position--not to lay my feet out like some other brand of motorcycle riders are used to doing. I use highway pegs less than 15% of the time but nice to stretch out the legs some occasionally. I find it helps my butt also by altering position and changing pressure points.

word of advice, if your like me and just fit stuff without reading the destruction's first make sure you put the cross brace on loosely BEFORE you bolt up the the outer parts using red lock-tight and leaving it while you go make a cup of tea because upon your return they have to come off again to get the cross brace in ::)

Doesn't count until you actually install it and post a picture. ;D
Just finished the install.
About an hour (20 min to get to Harbor Freight for a breaker bar)
Need a big ass breaker bar for the 4 big bolts!
I really like these crash bars, especially since they were less than half the cost of others.

Where are the 4 big bolts?

The SW-M bars use the two motor mount bolts in front and the two smaller bolts on each side where the OEM plastic engine guard things originally were. From the pic, it looks like the Givi may use the same mounting points?

With the SW-M's the biggest two bolts are the front engine mount bolts and they are torqued to 52 ft/lbs.

The Givi uses all four motor mount bolts in front.

Looks like the GIVIs will be the crash bar for me. Lower costs, good mounting points... Just hope I do not have to use them.

I started this thread way back in January, but had since pretty much talked myself out of installing crash bars. But now, after seeing the pictures and such of the Givi setup, I'm thinking they are (again) my first choice and will probably go for them after all (at least when my credit card thaws out again).
:)

Thinking about crash bars is like thinking about flats. Do the crash bars so you don't need them. And don't think about flats.

I ordered a set of Givi crash bars, look good and a lot cheaper than all the others.I was going to wait but Got to thinking Givi might figure out that they are about half the cost of the others.Either they are too cheap or the other companies are just a little too proud of there work. Thanks Givi.

I agree. I just ordered mine from Revzilla. $160 delivered.
Hard to justify more than twice that for some of the others.
I will give these a try.
