Rather than start 100 threads to reflect 100 people relating 100 dealers, jamming up the forum with "my thread - your thread" I'll just say that I took the price to my local dealer and they price matched $414 without hesitation. We are in a very high cost of living area with high overhead for the dealer.

Actually, US dealers can only sell US warranties. See what I mean?
Actually I have no idea what you are talking about. I was under the impression that we were talking the US, since all respondents were in the US. Your uncle can only sell US warranties, right?

Second, why are you posting in the vendors section, since you have "no dog in this fight" and are not a vendor approved by the forum. If you don't have interest, why do it, simply let your uncle do his own bidding. Unless he can't be a vendor. Just sayin'

Third, If you have no "dog in the fight", why are you so belligerent in the face of competition that by your own admission doesn't affect you. Incidently, once you did put name address and phone in your listing, you DID have a dog in the fight. I intentionally did not list such info and only prompted members to save money, I truly did not have a "dog in the fight" other than members here. Actually, as I said, your uncles price (whom you have not personal interest in) is good, but your attitude triggered my interest in showing members a better price. You used another great marketing tool....saying your uncles warranty is "100% real" implies that anything else is suspect of being phony. Neat move!

Fourth, Members....you don't have live in the state where you buy the warranty. It's available online and "easy peasy"

Fifth, if you members have no taste for savings and price shopping is to large a burden, spend away.

Sixth, As far as starting a new thread, just like you, Bloodline, I am not a vendor and as such cannot start a thread in the vendors section. OOPS, you shouldn't be listing here, should you?

Cykel. What is a liason, who has no dog in the fight called? Just curious.

Hey guys, let's settle down. This discussion has prompted me to refine the Vendor section rules. They will be up tonight.

Talk to Brad.. Tell him Jim sent you...
Japako, I just talked to Brad. He immediately knew who you were and said you were a regular/good/great customer.

He did you a solid on your warranty. The best he would offer me was $450. Guess I'll have to go with BL's uncle. Too bad - I always prefer to keep my money local.

Sounds like a nice guy, though. I'll have go check out his shop sometime.

That's the price he offered me. I've only bought a Tenere, rear tire and some semi expensive gloves. Haven't achieved "great" customer status yet.... ;)

Guys, to be quite honest, I don't understand what Brad is thinking about. So far, he has lost at least two sales and maybe more. I am of the belief, that a sale is a sale. It does not take more than 10 minutes to do the sale. If you make 30 bucks, it is better than nothing in my book.

I know the owner has the same attitude. I got him in touch with a friend in NM, who resells OEM parts. They gave him a good discount, and he has been buying for at least a couple of years. He always buys a large amount, so there is no nickel, and dime buying.

I would rather make something, than nothing at all. jmho

with the recently refined rules for posts in the vendors section, is this thread still up for discussion? have a few questions re: mods and extended warranty coverage

remember everyone we all have a common interest here, all differences aside - we ride. ::020::

For the record, John, my intent was to establish some sort of check system for verifying the legitimacy of vendors on our forum. Bloodline had no such certification and thus deserved what he got. If that shows up on your radar as "trolling", so be it. (trolls normally do not have over 600 posts, OR 6 months seniority over you on the forum) On my radar, it shows up as a filter to protect the forum from those who might take advantage of members (I am not disparaging Bloodline in any way) But who would know? Would you? Personally, I have no faith in the veracity of people I haven't met, and certainly not anyone who is simply present on the internet.

I've never been known as one who minces words and sometimes I even commit faux paux against the intelligencia, but this was not one of those cases. if I offended, so what?

The question now is...has Bloodline been brought up to speed and is he now a legitimate vendor?

By the way.... You're Welcome.

Wow, Sisuten just can't leave this alone.

I am not a "vendor". Those rules did not exist when I posted this thread.

Thanks to those that appreciate the good pricing and service my Uncle has provided.

bloodline,

Before I left for work, today, I got off the phone with your Uncle ET. If I had to describe my purchase experience, I would use words like "fast", "painless", "convenient", "simple", and "pleasant". As far as the price, I can only come-up with "a real bargain".

For what it's worth, I'm just your average serial lurker, here at YST.com. And, I really couldn't give two squirts of piss as to whether you've achieved "Vendor" status, or not.

What I do know, is that you and your Uncle were kind enough to extend a great offer, to a bunch of unknowns like me. And, it is very-much appreciated. Thanks to you and your Uncle, I got a warranty for $414, for which my Dealer...yes, the one who sold me the bike...was asking $1289. So, I'm stoked.

Once again, Thank You. And, please repeat my thanks to ET, the next time you see him...

^^^^ Thanks for the reply. I just talked to him and so far, there are no price changes for 2013. So, this is still good.

Welcome on, WPJJ from Texas. Almost missed you. Please post under Member Intros. Otherwise, you will have snuck in on us and a lot of folks won't get the chance to welcome you to the Forum. ::004:: to the Forum. Please let us know a little more about you, and your bike, or bike to be.

Just bought my YES warranty from bloodlines Uncle ET last week. $414 as advertised. Outstanding service and a great standup guy in ET. Would have paid more and felt good about it. Thanks for the info bloodline and thanks to your Uncle ET. I'm heading to South America in a year and I feel better knowing if something catastrophic happens to the beast I'll be covered and not be up shit creek without a paddle.

Just one thing to remember - warranty is US only, so won't help you south of the border... Unless, like me with my shot shock in Baja, you're close enough to get back to the us for repairs.

In my case, extended warranty was worth it, even if I can ever use it again (in southern Mexico now).

OK, a slightly different extended warranty question?

I bought my SuperTen used and it has the extended warranty on it. Can anyone enlighten a SuperTen newby as to just how to go about transferring the extended warranty from the previous owner to me? I assumed - wrongly, it appears - that I could do this online at the Yamaha website.

Thanks - trikepilot
