I'm hoping to ride 5 hours from Calgary to Fort Steele, BC and pan for gold in the Wild Horse River. Maybe look for the "lost Lemon Mine".

Every year I plan a few small trips and one large trip. I had planned on taking my Tenere up to Banff and Jasper National Parks this year for my long trip. Unfortunately it looks like i'll be taking the HD on that trip, since my three weeks vacation is already squared away. I might do a Big Bend trip on the Tenere some time around November, if I'm able to get it sufficiently farkled for a medium distance trip by then.

I don't have any super-long trips left this year. But I'm taking it to Maine at the end of the month.

If you get near Skowhegan, ME you owe it to yourself to stop at the Heritage House restaurant, it is excellent! We overnighted in Skowhegan on the way to Nova Scotia and the motel staff recommended the place.

A very nice opportunity just came up for me. A good friend of mine and I are going to ride down to Radium Hot Springs, B. C. on September 1. Down the Stewart-Cassiar Highway, over to Prince George, Jasper, Alberta and down the Banff Parkway into Southern B. C.


Nick has a winter home there (Laaa teee daaaa) and I will leave the bike there for the winter. Fly back to Whitehorse on Sept. 8. Fly back down in the spring and ride her back up to Whitehorse.


Does it get any better than that? A perfect end of season ride. Looking fard to it. R

My friend does live near Skowhegan. But there's always SO much excellent food at my friend's house party, I doubt I'll have room for restaurant fare.

My son and I just did 1600+ miles in 4 days, prior to his going into his last year of college. Went to the Dragon, Cheraholla, etc.
A guy working at the Dragon said they are getting about one a day there, now, with more on the weekends.

Well it looks like this trip will be a reality after all on the Tenere! T-minus 4 days and counting.

I'm 10 days and 4600 miles in to my trip bike has done well. Everyone loves the bike, and I've talked to countless people about my bike. I've see two other Teneres since I left Texas. I saw someone riding two up on a blue tenere in Colorado Springs on August 20th. I saw a black tenere in Calgary 23rd.

The Black Hills, Big Horn Mtns, Beartooth Pass, Chief Joseph Hwy are on my list.
The weather forecast for that area looks great.
Does anybody here live in the area or going to be out there next week ?

I dont have any firm travel plans for this trip, just a general direction. I tend to go with the flow of whatever the road and the weather presents along the way. If'n I get over in to your area, I'll try to contact you for some kind of meet and greet.
I've done several trips to the Rocky Mtn range over the years, never been disappointed.
