DO YOU HAVE A TRIP PLANNED for your new Super Tenere ? Where ?

Do you have a a trip planned, or are you trying to put a trip together around work and family ? There are many of us here that are.. Even if its a several day get-a-way or a big group gathering let us know..... This is not meant to be a "your invited to ride my ride with me" advertisement..... Just fun conversation on where you might be located, and where you might have your mind set, on traveling with your new bike. I think it would be interesting to see who might be doing more road type touring, or who might really be going off road and exploring some off the tarmac trails of some sort.......

Ill start, Out side of riding to work and working on new stuff for the bike. I will probably go up near the Red River to do some off pavement riding and doing test nights with the camp gear, Etc... Then will be heading to South Texas for the same thing, (test-test) weekend ride..... Then I will head to Big Bend before Christmas... and the next big trip that im aware of is the Alaska trip next summer......

Oh yeah!!

First trip will be my annual trip to Torrey, UT. I go every year from my home in Folsom, CA. It's a straight shot of 720 miles. I leave around 4-430 AM and get there in time for dinner. Once there, it's usually 4 days of absolute fun with some of my best friends in the world.

My first big ride will be from Helena to Sandpoint ID where I hook up with the North Cascades Hwy across the top of Washington. When I get near the coast I plan to drop down into the Portland area and visit a cousin I have never met that has the same name as me. The only difference is his middle name is Joe and mine is Jon. I'm planning on just knocking on his door to say hi. He called me at work one day years ago because my insurance agent noticed his name tag at an insurance function in Seattle. It is as very unusual last name so it caught his eye and he introduced himself to this fella. Turns out our wives even have the same first name. Maybe Rod Serling is involved

I had originally planned to take it on our trip to Nova Scotia, but that isn't gonna happen. So either it will be the MSTA Mail Pouch Fly-By in Marietta, OH or Fall Colors Ride at Snowshoe, WV. And definitely to Avon, CO for STAR 12.

I guess my first trip will also be a MSTA event, this one in Cape Girardeau, MO on Sept 30, Oct 1, 2, perhaps followed by a week of exploring more MO and AR Ozark roads with my son, if he gets a chance to ride from Biloxi on his Wee Strom.

My first ride will be to bring my new SuperT home from the dealer!!!!! Usually only about 12 miles, but you never know how long it will be that day!!!

One of the local customs we have here in our Tampa Area riding group is Looping the Lake; that’s Lake Okeechobee, the big lake down in South Florida. It’s kind of like a ritual that’s developed here when you get a new bike and you have to loop the lake and get a picture up on the east side dike. I used that loop as part of my running in on my last new motorcycle purchase and will probably do that again with the Tenere. It’s just a long day.

The other trip I’m making is down to the Everglades National Park, last week in December. The Florida Keys are so close, you’ve got to spend a couple days down there too. I made this trip (Glades and Keys) the same time in December last and had a great time. However, there were some heavy gravel roads in the Glades that my HD couldn’t handle well and had to punk out and turn back. I look forward to taking the Tenere in there this time. This would be a great trip for anyone visiting our state. I can almost guarantee you a photo of your bike and a wild alligator for your album.

Like Rod, my first ride will be home from the Dealership - about 40 miles After that I hope to head up the South and North Canol road, this will be weather dependant as August can get snowy or just wet and cold in the mountains around here. Otherwise commuting to work as weather permits.

I have a September trip planned from DFW to north central, AR. Going to do a couple of day loops with some friends. Ride up Thursday. Ride Friday/Saturday. Come back Sunday.

First trip planned (mid September) is a excursion to the Crested Butte area of Colorado with day trips over...Kebler Pass, Ohio Pass, Schofield Pass, Cottonwood Pass......

the first two weekends i will head west to the hill country to drive the three sisters that's about a 500 mile round trip just enough to break in the engine ... Then in october i plan to leave for arizona for to weeks be my first camping trip cant wait ! And early next year i like to drive to Big Been be nice to have a group for that one..

First overnight will be an MSTA event to Porterville, CA. Riding the Southern Sierra, namely Kings Canyon National Park.

Hmm. Mine's exactly the same. Bill's probably sick and tired of seeing me in his rear view mirror

The Tenere was made for the Trans Peninsula. Potholes, topas, sand and wildlife to dodge I can't resist.

Labor day week I will be on a boat in Alaksa. The next weekend after the cruise I am back, I will be heading for a trip someplace while my wife is in Hawaii for a long weekend. At this time I am thinking quick jaunt over to YellowSTone area. Anyone want to join me? It will be September 16th weekend. I am thinking of taking off Friday and Monday for this trip. More to come on this.

Every year I plan a few small trips and one large trip. I had planned on taking my Tenere up to Banff and Jasper National Parks this year for my long trip. Unfortunately it looks like i'll be taking the HD on that trip, since my three weeks vacation is already squared away. I might do a Big Bend trip on the Tenere some time around November, if I'm able to get it sufficiently farkled for a medium distance trip by then.
