First trip will be over the mountains into SE KY, down into the VA panhandle, then pack north criss-crossing the border between W VA and VA.

Second trip will be Thanksgiving: Cruising down to New Orleans for Thanksgiving day for a oyster Po'or Boy, gumbo and etouffe...then home. Long distance for take out, but...there you go.

Looks like my summer and fall are already booked with other events that require attention. I'll certainly be doing day or weekend trips in my local area, but nothing planned for a long haul. My long trip is scheduuled to begin this Thursday 7/14. I'll be on the Vstrom for this one. I hope I don't get a call from the dealer while I'm riding. that'll just mess up the whole trip.

If the Tenere arrives in time , I'll go to Wyoming and Montana at the end of August. If not, I have a trip planned to western N. Carolina with the MTF, they have the Iron Horse Lodge completely booked for the 3rd weekend in September.

I'll defiantly cover the entire Blue Ridge Parkway, Deal's Gap, Cherohala, Eastern Tenn, W Va, VA, etc. If our Teneres don't arrive too late I will ride up to Nova Scotia just to enjoy a perfect sunset and fine cigar. 8) Life's greatest pleasures are the simple ones.

I ordered a ST from a dealer about 100 miles away. I'm a little apprehensive about getting up to get it and getting back. First need to get a ride up there, second that 100 miles is via busy freeways. I wasn't really looking forward to getting a new, large bike and riding in traffic home.

A few months ago, the "Tour of California" bicycle race was held with stage 3 ending in my hometown. The route started in Auburn and went with in miles of my Yamaha Dealership, then back-roads heading to Modesto. So, I found a "secret" back country route home which I'll be taking. Should be the first adventure of many for the motorcycle.

Pick up in Longview, TX, ride home to Maryland, after doing the 600 miles for the break-in service in Texas.

Route back is dependent on work and childcare commitments. If there's no time, then I'll do a SaddleSore or BunBurner. If there is time, my preference would be to start a 4 corners tour. :) I'm planning to run K-60s when the OEM tires wear out. 4 Corners ought to take care fo that. :D

If it comes in early enough I am planning a long weekend trip up to Mount Washington. Should be a nice ride and then come back down the coast.

I think so. I was concerned about break in, but Tony in Longview related that when he got his new FJR a few years back, he did no dedicated break in and immediately went on a long ride with no ill effects. He also mentioned that Mark rode his FJR from Texas to Washington right out of the box, as well. I'll probably ride around the area, put a few miles on it and change out the oil before I leave for home.

I'm having my farkles (I hate that word, but it fits, I guess) shipped to a friend in Tyler (close to Tony's place) where I'll do the installs and relax with some great Texas people for a day or two before heading back.

My ride with the new bike will be my first ride into permanent retirement and finally home for good (Whew!)

I guess I'm finally getting anxious after such a long wait.

Well I might as well chime in here too! My first trip will be about 40 miles home from the dealer. Probably to work for a week or two. Then head toward the eastern parts of Oregon( I live in western Oregon). If bike arrives soon enough. Maybe camp and flyfish some of the rivers there. My plan is to do much camping to prepare for the 'Great trip to the far north' and meet up with everyone in Whithorse!! A good buddy of mine is also getting a Supa T and is going to paint it white as soon as it arrives. We had already planned on a trip to Alaska and Maybe up the Haul road but we are looking forward to meeting this Rem guy....looks like he needs a shave but I lived in northern Idaho where it would somtimes get to -25 so I can understand the hairy look ;) Look forward to meeting everyone. Shuhite.

That's the plan Tabasco! Hope to be there in July.

Only have three weeks to do this trip in.
Just have to convince the boss to give me three consecutive weeks off!

I'll take lots of pictures but not good with computors ::)
