Corporate Yamaha says Blue to be delivered soon to east coast. If I get it by July 27 I will take in the festivities of Thunder In The Hyhlands and while there visit some relatives. I would be looking for some Northern Virginia plates and other and may be meet up with some form members.

I just found this ride on ADV.com Its called the T.W.A.T- Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail. It got by blood pumping just looking at the pics and the locations that the trail goes though.

I've had hopes of doing that ride since finding out about it a couple years ago. Someone else on ADVrider was writing about putting together a Trans Illinois Trail as well...

Out of all the "Trans" trails though, I think the Trans America looks like the most fun. With a little bit of luck and a fair bit of time out of the office, I'm hoping to do the TAT, TIT, and TWAT on the S10 within the next 4 years.

Somewhat closer to home (for East Coasters) is the Hatfield McCoy Trail System (http://www.trailsheaven.com/default.aspx) out in WVA.

Do you have a a trip planned, or are you trying to put a trip together around work and family ? There are many of us here that are.. Even if its a several day get-a-way or a big group gathering let us know..... This is not meant to be a "your invited to ride my ride with me" advertisement..... Just fun conversation on where you might be located, and where you might have your mind set, on traveling with your new bike. I think it would be interesting to see who might be doing more road type touring, or who might really be going off road and exploring some off the tarmac trails of some sort.......

Ill start, Out side of riding to work and working on new stuff for the bike. I will probably go up near the Red River to do some off pavement riding and doing test nights with the camp gear, Etc... Then will be heading to South Texas for the same thing, (test-test) weekend ride..... Then I will head to Big Bend before Christmas... and the next big trip that im aware of is the Alaska trip next summer......

Let us know your "plans".......

Tabasco re: Alaska - this is on my bucket list and I was thinking of shooting for 2012 (since the world is ending :))

Will the ride that you mention be open to outsiders?

Tabasco is out of town for a week, but we are planning a trip to Big Bend November 10th - 14th. I will post details on the trip in about a week or so. All are welcome to come to this get together and meet some new Super Tenere Owners.

I have a group of friends that plan to be at Lajitas Resort RV park. You guys may want to start checking for places to stay between Lajitas and Terlingua on those dates. I plan to leave that Thursday the 10th, ride Friday, Saturday, Sunday and return home Monday.

Should be a fun trip. I did it 2 years ago and had a blast.

NO! OUTSIDERS are always welcome :))

I'll be in Fredericksburg Oct 7-9 for TexSTOC, but November can be a bit "risky" for weather changes coming down from Colorado. It would be nice to see/ride the Big Bend area again!!!!

:)

November would be an awesome time for Big Bend! I've been there most often in January, and twice in March. March was really pretty.

I to am doing the fly & ride, flying into DFW pick up the bike - spend a few days with a old AF buddy - while installing the box full of "stuff" I have accumulated over this past year (geez almost a year since I put money down!) hopefully put a couple hundred miles on around the Dallas area - change the oil and head west, take a right out side the Very Large Array in NM, head for the NM and CO mountains - then cut across Southern UT before dropping down into Vegas(home) - I know that I'll have heat to deal with on most of the trip so it will be up early am and make the most of the days before the heat really kicks in - I'm OK up until about 105 but after that I need shade. I should have a couple thousand miles on by the time I get it home. I can't wait ! It will be Almost Sept when I get it home, and the weather will start getting nice in the desert - I got some exploring to do. (the BMW RT just didn't like the old mining trails out here)

In October I will be taking the ferry across to he north of Spain, then travelling east across the Pyrenees to the Mediteranean, following the coast round to Italy with a quick drop into Turin. Then north over the Alps via Austria, the Harz mountains in Germany, up to the English Channel and a quick ferry or the Channel Tunnel back to Blighty.

Can't wait, just hoping there isn't any early snow blocking the cols.

Well it is not a RTW but this weekend is a MSTA rally in Marietta, OH and the maiden voyage for my Tenere. Maybe we will ride to Vermont to visit family next month, TBD

I forgot that next year we will go to Avon, CO for the MSTA national and then on to Bozeman, MT to visit family.

I don't have any super-long trips left this year. But I'm taking it to Maine at the end of the month. I'd be tempted to run down for the Fly-By, except I need to do the first service this weekend, and work on the farkling, so I can be ready for my trip to Maine.

I'll get down to Marietta on my own, sometime in Sept. And in October I am going to Tellico Plains, perhaps by way of the Blue Ridge.

These are all sorta routine trips for me, long weekend rides I do every year. I'll have to plan something more unusual for 2012!
