::015:: Took my test ride today! Yes, I think I can get used to this bike! I was able to take it out for 30-40 minutes, so I got to try it on the freeway and a few twisties in the low foothills in both touring and sport modes. My black one should be at D&E on Monday or Tuesday. It's coming in from San Jose on a dealer trade. Can't wait! ::022::

Raven is at my dealer

Well the Raven Tenere is waiting on me to go get it. I want it so bad ! I really wanted to sell my ST1300 first. It would not have bothered me if the Tenere didnt come for another month. I might be in my garage by Friday. Update to follow.

I'm curious.... for those who have taken recent deliveries (especially if you were waiting), what is the build date on the VIN sticker (located on the left frame downtube below the cylinder head, visible from the front)?

Cool, this means Yamaha did produce a 2nd batch of bikes separate from the summer 2011 production run to fill demand during the 2nd order period. This is encouraging because it means Yamaha did sell out the earlier production and hopefully indicates they have future production runs scheduled rather than doing a TDM-style "hit and run" for the US market.

I got mine! Picked it up yesterday afternoon and put a few miles on it. A couple of hundred today with about 5 miles of dirt. Definitely better in Traction 2 on the dirt.

Here's the promised pic at the destination.

I put my deposit down for a black one on February 2nd.... still no bike :'( :'(

You guys are making me jealous, but I am very happy for you!

I've been planning, dreaming & saving for my S10 for a year now. Now that I am waiting on Yamaha instead of myself, it's REALLY hard!

February 2nd - this year? Like, 8 days ago?? Don't be such a cry baby, try waiting 11 months like a lot of us did! ::025::

I know how long many of you guys waited. I've read every thread and review since 2010 and I participated in sending emails to Yamaha, etc. to try to convince them to bring the bike over here. When the PDP program was announced I wasn't in a position to purchase one, now I am.

From my perspective, the S10 has really taken off and is doing quite well. My local dealer, who I have known for 25 years and purchased many bikes & ATVs from, ordered 10 S10's for 1st quarter this year and was only allocated 3 from Yamaha. He says that the Tenere and the Grizzly ATV are the bikes that are moving for Yamaha right now.

I'm just excited to get my hands on one, finally, after thinking about it seriously for more than a year.

Bit different for me. I was all set to get another FJR, would have been my fourth. Since I high mileage them in three years I keep them moving. But was just plain sick of getting beat up riding the tight FJR on my roads. Aches and pains as well. Dealer suggest the S10...turns out he couldn't get one but a neighboring dealer claimed to move enough product that he could get what he needed from Yamaha. Guess he was right. Not much of a wait. I said first color in and it turns out to be black which replaces the black 08 FJR. I couldn't be happier.

Riding buddy just got the 990 adventure yesterday. Not a big fan of it but he has always been a KTM rider. Looking forward to matching the S10 up against the 990....on dirt AND road.

Hang in there my XTZ12 friend-!! I really do remember what is was like although I only had to wait about five weeks or maybe four weeks, anyway in a year from now when you have 1000 miles (more or less) on her it will seem as if it was yesterday ... hope this may help in a small way ...

They are available folks. At least in the Southeast. Put a deposit down yesterday on a Raven. Bike will be ready for pick up Tuesday. A 4 day turn around isn't too bad!
