Any idea how long deliveries are taking? I put money down Oct 04 2012, The dealer thought possibly a month wait, now he has no idea when my bike will show up.
Where's you're dealer? Romney Cycles, WV has had no trouble getting them AFAIK. Great guys to deal with and good prices. Give them a call... ask for Larry.Riceburner said:Any idea how long deliveries are taking? AFAIK, all the bikes being sold today have been in-country since Sept 2011. Maybe some of the dealers/salespeople on this forum can chime in, but I don't see any reason anyone should have to wait more than a week or two for the bike to make it from the warehouse to the dealer. Maybe the dealer doesn't have allocation and is trying to wrangle a better deal from another dealer with existing stock.dcstrom said:BTW I think you mean October 4 2011 - if your dealer hasn't been able to get one since then he's not trying hard enough, or Yamaha don't like him!
There was a recall for an o-ring seal on the fuel pump. Maybe that was what they were talking about.tadtenere said:Mine was supposed to arrive in November, but still has not made it. I got word that Yamaha was "doing something" to the bikes in the warehouse. Anyone else heard this?
The fuel o-ring recall is being handled at the dealer level - the dealer needs to make the mod before delivery, but it is a simple 30-min job so I doubt this would be the reason for a warehouse hold. If anyone is waiting more than a few weeks, I'd be doing the full-court press to deliver a bike or you'll take your business elsewhere.tadtenere said:Mine was supposed to arrive in November, but still has not made it. Post up if you get any news. I've had two local dealers tell me they confirmed they are currently shipping from the warehouse, but without delivery date. One seems to think this weekend is possible, but by next weekend for certain. All rumors to me until I get a phone call with a VIN number ::024::pteppic said:"Not yet..." That's what my dealer told me this morning when I went in to check on my bike's progress. It's not here yet, and he's been calling Yamaha every day to find out. I'm getting impatient now! :-[

I was curious about that too, I go thru U.S. customs regularly (when there is less snow/ice anyway) , they have sensors/detectors that are very sensitive. it picks up people that have had xrays with the radio isotopes milk shake stuff (what ever it is), among other things. my bike has never set off these devices, never a question asked other than 'what are you riding?'Sir Bo-Croat said:Boy, I hate to throw a wet towel on all those basking in the sun, but anybody go over their bike with a geiger counter?
Sorry, if I seem paranoid ::002:: , but there was a time last year when the Fukushima Daiichi power plant was curtailing deliveries from Japan.
You can be sure it is because it is a blue bike and not black .... sorry everyone, I couldn't resist bring up the stupid ::022::tkad said:I was curious about that too, I go thru U.S. customs regularly (when there is less snow/ice anyway) , they have sensors/detectors that are very sensitive. it picks up people that have had xrays with the radio isotopes milk shake stuff (what ever it is), among other things. my bike has never set off these devices, never a question asked other than 'what are you riding?'
