Went to the dealer to try and get a VIN so I could shop insurance. Also to check and see if the bike was in. I had received some "intel" from ptfjjj that my bike was to be delivered today. The Sales Mgr. checked his computer and said he hadn't received anything on it yet and that he always got some kind of a notification from Yamaha before delivery. While the Sales Mgr. was checking and making a few phone calls (to no avail), I struck up a conversation with the Gen. Mgr. He then left and jumped in his golf cart and drove off. As I was exiting, he pulled up on his cart and said "How would you like to see something that I've never seen before? Hop in." He proceeded to drive me over to the service area (this is a big dealership) and lo and behold, my bike is being assembled by a mechanic! He was a little surprised that they hadn't received any notification from Yamaha and when he heard me telling the Sales Mgr. that my intel source said the bike would be delivered today, he jumped in his cart and went to check it out! He asked the guys in the shop when it had been delivered and they told him "last night". The shop guys just took it upon themselves to put it together.
Way too cool!
I'm picking it up in about an hour! This weekend it's going to get a 500 mile break-in ride!
P.S. The blue color is outstanding.
