The bike says my average is 49.5 miles per gallon. If that is accurate that is better than what I got on my Tiger 800. Never did better than 44 miles per gallon on the Triumph.

Bike says 56mpg but that is (proper) UK gallons, actual Mpg average of 52mpg, low of 47 and high of 60mpg

I'm getting around 4.9 L/100km (just want you work it out ::025::), but either way, if it was less would you ride less? and if more would you ride more? I get there is some satisfaction in attaining good mpg, but for me personally, I just fill up, zero the trip and ride until I see the 'F' come up, then repeat.

My on board computer shows my fuel consumption fluctuating between 45 and 55 imperial gallons. How accurate this is I don't know, I've not bothered checking the traditional way.

Just checked my 2014 standard over the weekend. Computer was reading 52 mpg at fill up. I checked it manually and it computed to about 50 mpg. Second fill, computer read 48.?, actual about 47. I think the consistency of the riding affects the computers accuracy. If your doing mostly highway, it will be more accurate (and better mileage of course). CA gas is crappy IMO. Always run premium though. One time recently I did notice after filling at a generic mini-mart gas station my fuel mileage was not as good. Next fill was at a Shell and mileage was better....go figure. Same type of riding too. As others have said, the harder you ride (twist that throttle) the lower the mpg, it is worth it though :)

Still breaking mine in but 47 has been the average. I have noticed driving into the wind or highway speeds really affect consumption. I imagine once I get through the break in 42 will be more likely my avg with more throttle applied

Yup yup
highest mpg I have ever gotten is 42 mpg (once). I have no problem with my 38 mpg lifetime average.
Not even one single commuting mile or errand hopping on my bike, 100% pleasure riding.

I like Sport mode and twisting the throttle, if cruising on a boring straight stretch of highway 85-90 mph is my friend to keep things interesting and stay well ahead of any cagers. I don't stress on consumption but I do track it religiously. I've caught the leading edge of a problem before by noticing a huge unexplainable drop. Typically fill up with Mid Range 89 octane, plenty of times only Regular 87 octane was available maybe I would get higher mpg with Premium 92 octane?

You can click on any of the banners below to get the full boring details. I use this website to track my maintenance also. They have a smart phone app as well but usually I just save receipts when out on the road on a trip and enter all in at once when I get home. Too much hassle to enter tank by tank entrys. I use Trip1 for total trip miles and Trip2 for each tank when I fill up doing a quick calculation in my head before resetting each time.

US MPG

UK MPG

RTW L/100km

A steady throttle hand gets me around 47mpg.
Once I start ramming the throttle it drops, I try to keep it calm just increase the gas with an even twist.

40-42, may do better in higher elevations.
Mile high here and By the computer I am getting 43, considering the speedo is off, and not regular in that regard, it is anyones guess.

I suppose I will have to gps someday, I'm afraid I won't like the answer though ::007::

3 to 4 miles an hour under?
Every bike I have owned was around 2 to 3 Mph under, my Tenere with the big 21" in the front runs 4 Mph under.
After I reinstalled my ECU back from Ac gas went up to 51mpg at 70mph, we will see how it does when I load the bike up and hit the road within the next two weeks.
The flash is the next best investment besides the clutch basket on Pre 14 Tenere's.

Geez, what's wrong with mine? I live at Altitude where people are getting close to 50 mpg. I ride in "S" mode 95% of the time but don't romp on the throttle and only get about 45 mpg….
