This loose sand is gonna get me

Thanks to EricV for the Cycle World link for tips to riding in sand. I did a trip to southern Utah last year, and there were multiple times I had to deal with sand. I discovered that sand seems to be the kryptonite to the Tenere. :-X :-X

    Mitas tires?

I had a great time riding up to the Super Tenere Rally in Sandy, Oregon. It actually rained that Friday night! The next morning when we gathered to begin riding many awesome routes around Mt. Hood, everything was saturated with rain. I rode carefully, due to reading the K60s were slippery in...

Aug 14-16 Big event in Sandy Oregon Around Mt Hood

I went to the rally, I just loved it! The riding around Mount Hood is simply awesome! If you get the chance, ride the Barlow Road, which is just a wicked 4x4 "road" cut through the forest in the 1800's. Thanks to all the guys who organized the rides and rally. Great job!

    Rumbux or Altrider Crash Bars?

I have the Altrider skid plate and crash bars. 9,300 miles on the bike now, and just got home from a 2,300 mile trip, including one 24 mile section of wicked rocky 4x4 "road", the Barlow Road over Mount Hood, OR. I heard all kinds of rocks pinging off the skid plate, with no substantial damage...

What do we now think of the bike

Just got home from a three state ride over 7 days. Lots of great roads, with some gravel roads and one extreme offroad section, 24 miles of rock, roots, silt, ruts, and even water. After 2,300 miles on this trip, and completing the wicked section of the Barlow Road over Mount Hood, I have...

Super Tenere 4 year/100,000 mile update

Awesome! Thank you for the excellent report, and the wonderful pictures. May God continue to bless you on your adventure! You are truly living the reason we all buy and ride this bike.

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Just went to the site for your plate -- looks good! But I am happy I got the Altrider plate. The next time I change the filter and oil it will be much quicker -- I know the procedure! It will be easy and painless. I do like the look of your plate; it definitely will protect vulnerable parts...

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

New. Simple: already changed the oil and rear drive lube, so today I put on some stickers on the top case from the last trip; then waxed the bike and loaded the bags for the rally in Sandy Oregon this weekend. See you there! ::021::

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

In situations like that I am always tempted to launch missiles, pull out the flame throwers, and throw grenades. And while I contemplate a peaceful response, I ALWAYS wonder: "Who put the lunatics in charge of the asylum?"

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Changed the rear drive lube Sunday evening, used Maxima racing synthetic 75-90. Had to be creative to find a way to get the new lube in the rear drive unit. Anyone have a way to do this cleanly and efficiently?

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Changed the oil today, new 10-40 Amsoil and filter. You all have probably done this 100's of times. But here is what I am excited about: I have the Altrider skid plate that I really don't want to remove every time I change the oil. So, with a little trepidation I began the process. Cue the...

Thinking about ditching the Tenere, may have to take it to court

Just want to say I am sorry for all your frustrations and troubles with the dealer. Hope the best for you and your bike. I know it doesn't help with your troubles, but I have been there a few times over the last 45 years. I have had dealings with great dealers, and lying cheating criminally...

    My bike is falling apart!

I have always had the crazy notion that one of the reasons we ride instead of drive is that bikes are more involving! And they definitely need more care and attention than do new cars and trucks. ::019::

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Went on a great ride with Tomatocity last Saturday: starting in Ione, heading out towards the 108 going east to the 395, then to the 88 to the 4 back west to home. Excellent day, weather, and roads. The higher the elevation the better the air smelled, like God's own fragrance. Awesome day...

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Had a great day today! Tomatocity stopped by with a Yamaha side case that he had taking up space in his garage, as it had been broken when his bike went over in a slow fall in deep mud. The amazing gift he gave me was his side case was mostly in good shape. One of the best parts of the Yamaha...

Got a lift best money spent!

That is a great looking set-up for working on your bike and changing tires! Your tenacity reminds me of the quote, "All good things come to he who waits"; although I might have it wrong!

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

No report on the Mitas yet as they haven't touched the ground. They look perfect to my eye, much less agricultural than the K60 lugs yet plenty dirt-worthy with enough tread and sidewall to handle 2-up camping trips. Love to know how you like them after you enjoy some miles with them. After a...
