    Left front shock leaking oil........

Hi guys. A few questions for you more knowledgeable owners. First of all, I live in Honduras and my dealer doesn’t stock parts for my 2014 basic model. Would I be better off looking for a replacement shock or looking for a seal kit? I think they replace seals on the smaller 125cc to 250cc bikes...

    Starting problem.

2014 base model . About once every 10-15 times I srart the bike, by pushing down on the red switch, nothing happens. One time I waited 20 min. and it fired up, but the starter motor didn’t seem to turn as fast as normal. My dealer just replaced the battery. Same thing just happened on a trip...

    Fork maintenance?

Thanks. 22,000 mi. on my 2014 base model Tenere. Should I be wanting to change out tho front fork oil now? Seals too, I guess? I ride easy and no oil leaks....knock on wood. How about that mono- shock in the rear....any maint. required? It runs like new....and rides comfortably....2 up. Had full...

Help! 76 yr. old ST1200 owner looking for final bike..........

This is way off topic, but I don’t know where else to go. Forgive me. Here goes. The XT1200 is perfect for the crappy roads here in Central America. Am going into my 4th full year.......95% 2-up 10 day trips. Am moving back to the US in 2 yrs and would appreciate some help from you more...

    Cruise Control fault-quick fix.

The yellow dash light would come on okay, but the green "set" light would not turn on, thus the CC would not function. Solved it with a 10 minute visit to a local bike shop. The mech. used 10mm and 12mm wrenches and adjusted the rear brake pedal so that the forward end of the peg is lifted...

    OEM BATTLEWINGS

Am replacing them soon, with over 16,000 KM on them (10,000 mi.). Could possibly get 17,000, but won't push it.. I know they are not for everyone, but I just wanted to commend Yamaha for using this tire OEM. It was good in the wet, and superb on pavement.....even though every type of pavement...

    E07's vs. TKC70's

90/10 S10 rider here, down in CA. My conditions for eight months are DRY, with loose dirt, loose round stone and loose gravel off road, which occurs when i pull off the pavement for gas, food or hotel in many cases. Rainy season is torrential, so the bike sits at the dealer. The pavement here in...

1000th tire thread. E07's vs. the new TKC70

Yeah, a lot has been written, but maybe not specifically for me. For reasons known only to me, aften reading tons of posts, I will replace my original Battlewings with either of the above. Would some of you more experienced riders mind helping me with this choice? I respect if you like something...

    Sorry, 80/20 tire suggestions wanted

Probably been covered, but up-to-date info. is best. 2014 S10 here. Ready to buy in three months. I do mostly 2-up riding- usually at 60 mph, but once a day to 85-90 on straight concrete for a minute or two. Am no longer a hot-dogger. The original Battle wings are now over 60% worn and no...

    Noise forward

2014 S10 here. Clueless as to what they are hearing, but curious. I live down in Honduras where people are sometimes walking alongside the better paved roads. Quite often, while going 40-55 mph, they will turn around and look to see where the sound is coming from. On average, about 150' ahead of...

1/2 in. Crossbar. Garmin Nuvi 65 2014 model

Maybe you brighter kids can help me figure out why Yamaha put a 1/2 in. crossbar just above the new digital dashboard. I bought a new 6 in. Garmin Nuvi 65 and tried to mount it on the bar so the unit was more inline with my line of sight. I tried 3 different mounts, built it up with tape, then...

S10 owner needs smaller bike for island use. Advice please.

Hi Guys, My S10 is too big for a 34 mile long by 2 mi. wide island. Too much traffic and idiot taxis. I keep it on the mainland for 1-2 week trips to the mountains on (mostly) paved roads. However, I need practice on dirt roads and there are plenty here on Roatan. So am thinking of something...

    2014 3000 mi.

Hi Guys, Now have 3000 miles on my 2014 basic model. All is fine. Wife and I just returned from 18 days in Nicaragua. Attented a 3 day Hog Fest with 300 "Harleros" at San Juan del Sur on the Pacific coast, then went off on our own thru the cafe and cacoa towns in the mountains. Nice B&B's make...

    2014 identification

Hi Everyone, My Honduras dealer says my 2014 S10 will be in the showroom next week. (As promised last summer). Other than the spiffy new dash, how do I verify it's actually a true 2014 rather than a retitled 2013 with a few upgrades added? ID plate? Where is it? Many thanks for your help. I'll...

    Raid Toolbox

Just received the aluminum Raid Toolbox from Jason Smith at ADVMotorrad.com. It will come in very handy, as I'll be using just the factory panniers (black) and a Pelican 2075 case (black) for 2-up jaunts throughout Latin America. The Pelican will sit behind a pass. backrest by CherDan. I know...

    2014 Super Tenere

    Yamaha's response to "Hard Start"

Just spoke about the HARD START problem with a Yamaha Customer Service rep. She told me she had never heard about it. She then put me on hold for 10 minutes and said "there are no known calls regarding this issue. Yamaha is not aware of it". I told her there were 2 or 3 threads on this board...
