With only 7500 miles on mine and no really long, challenging trips I've yet to bond to the ST's character. On the GS it was the ride up to Prudhoe Bay where I bonded with the bike. Not sure where this type of bonding will occur on the ST. Will probably take it west toward the end of June to run...

I installed Hyper-Lites u32 kit this morning and configure it to blink for 5 seconds before going solid. Mounted them just above the brake lights. They won't fix stupid, but they are an attention getter, for sure.
i've run octanes 85, 87 89 and 93 and haven't noticed a difference in performance, mileage or otherwise, but then i'm not tuned into or as sensitive as some other folks. generally, i use the highest octane available, but i'll use whatever's available and not worry about it.

picked up the bike on august 8th, 2011. 600 mile service on august 13, 2011. since then only 5432 miles on the tenere. changed the oil and installed the alt rider skid plate today... finally. planning on spending some time on the road and the tenere this year.
if you heal as quickly as time flies, you'll be riding in no time at all. hope the surgery goes well and you're able to ride the super t out onto the road where it belongs.
