They are incredibleachines indeed. I really like the 890s and the 1290 is hard to hate too. My top priority was reliability and that is the S10s wheel house. I'm not saying you but a lot of people overlook what a bikes purpose is. It's easy to say the KTM is better because it has more power and better suspension and for the right purpose that would be true. It's all about getting the bike that fulfills the needs you want it to rather than expecting all bikes to be everything.
4 years, 50K miles on the S10......purchased because of the reliability; fulfilled the want/need. I will never bad-mouth her, we shared a lot of good times. Eventually got bored and wanted some spice......hence the orange bike.

(Got tired of the high school sweetheart and ditched her for a stripper.....happy so far.)

Well generally strippers are detached, not looking for intimacy and companionship and are there just for the money...LOL!

A faithful housewife (which are discontinued pretty much like the S10 LOL) offer that sense of attachment and serenity...they are not spicy but do require some flash to wake them up a bit

I get it, I'm coming off a z900rs and I've built all sorts of crazy machines that were very exciting. I wanted boring now.

So the Triumph is listed on CycleTrader, Craigslist, and ADV for $19k.

Rode it to the local Harley/Ducati dealer just out of curiosity to see what they had for sale or trade and I wanted to sit on a couple of Multistradas for feel. The Stradas were nice but not right. They have a 2017 Midnight Blue Super Tenere with only 3,500 miles so while not seriously thinking to buy it, I asked what it would take to make a deal because I was curious what they'd give for the Triumph. The initial answer was a straight swap and I pay $400 for inspection and tax. While waiting for the sales guy to talk to his manager I looked on their website and that bike is listed for $10,435. After I walked out and hopped on the Triumph the sales guy come out to say his manager would waive the $400. With taxes and such I figure they were really offering a bit over $12,000 for mine.

LOL

Anyway, their Tenere is like new, really is that low in miles, and for the price looks like possibly a good purchase for somebody else here.

So apparently they are open about their shenanigans?

originally it was $13,800ish. Then dropped to $10,495 and now they raised the price to $12,997.

BMW is sold ti a very happy buyer.

It’s just too big for me in my late 60s and my loss is your gain.
Never rained on, always garaged, and never dropped. . . .

Update. Salesman sent me a text on the panam. Texted him I was still shopping. He sent me another text a few minutes later. Knocked $1000 off. I’m not really looking for a panam. I wouldn’t trade my 10 year old S10 for it. He wants me to come ride it. Might take him up on it. Get down the road and flog it like we used to do. Engine heat is bad I heard. Deal breaker in Ms. heat.

Absolutely. I'll ride anything to see what it's like. Don't figure I'll find anything I like better than my Tenere. (of course, that's what I said about my now neglected FJ . . . . until I got my Tenere)

Take it out for a ride, more info is better. That way you can decide if YOU like it, not based on hearsay.

Maybe the Africa Twin 2024 is a good option...
Speaking of the AT. I saw a video on a show today. It's an AT, in a dealership. The front tire is in a wheel chock. The back tire is on a ramp of some sort. A customer turns the key on and hits the starter button. The motor starts, revs, and the ramp is pushed out from under the back tire. How did this happen? Every bike that I've had will not start in gear without the clutch pulled in.
