I posted in one of the BMW GS vs S10 threads that I have owned many GS and GSA BMWs over the years (about 15 GSs 28 total BMWs 60 ish total MCs) and I was looking forward to comp the bikes. After going well over 200k miles on just the GS model and many more miles on all makes and models of bikes I could not make a true comp between the bikes without putting 2k or so miles on the S10. I put the first mile on it Dec 5th and hit 4990 today. (29 deg in TN today) I have gone off road, around town, hit the dragon hwy 129 alot and ran the slab knoxville to Miami at 85 mph in a day. As I have said in the past nothing rides like a BMW and that still holds true. This is the first bike I can say rides close enough to the GSA to make me happy and kicks it ass in every other area. It corners perfect, great power, stops on a dime (perfect ABS), looks fantastic, O and the idea of never ever being stuck on the side of the road with another DOA final drive priceless. I have owned 6 diff motorcycles in the last 12 months and sold them with out a 2nd thought, (2 of them GSAs) this one is going to 100k. As i think about that many miles on one bike I must note, I will have 3 valve adj, fluid changes, tires and brakes. I love everything about this bike. Thank you Yamaha. ::021::
