Did a search for a Wunderlich/Hepco Becker Skid Plate and did not find one being used. Other than cost are there any reasons?

I've got H-B skid plate and crash bars, sturdy, and well made. Works for me! ::008::

Certainly not as "trendy" as some of the other brands. ::025:: ::025:: ::025::

I have the HB plate and WP guard fitted with AltRider bars.

I trimmed the plate a bit on the RHS to make a bit more space for my big feet. Pushing down didn't always connect with the brake! The corner where the maintenance charger cable passes in the 2nd pic below. Probably have to do this for the others too. The pics I saw showed a riveted construction, but mine is welded. I also cut a hole under the sump lug so if if takes a big enough hit it will straddle it rather than punch it through.

It fits well, is easy to take on and off for service, doesn't mount to the engine, and hopefully tough enough, and for me, the price was right on the day.

Thanks for the information. Good tip on the hole to clear the mounting bolt. How much did you trim from the Fenda Extenda?

easy to install...

Had mine for nearly 50000 miles, taken some hard hits with no problem, except the rear mounts got bent up a bit. Straightened next time I removed the plate for oil change. Filters must be stock or shorter, long ones won't fit with this plate.

Crash bars are good too, not crashed tested but between them and the Jesses have protected the bike well in multiple tipovers. Only issue was that when I dropped it on a curb, the bars missed and curb hit the plastic side cover above them and cracked it. A bit more coverage would have helped in this case, but most of the time it's fine. Anyway, some of the bars with more coverage have more flex in them, so in the same situation they might have bent in and cracked the plastic also. Then you would be left with the problem of straightening the bars. H&B are short but stiff.
