Glad Yamaha is releasing the World Crosser Editions. The more the merrier. I have a few of these parts already and examined many of others close up in Parma and they are well thought out. Agree on the bash plate but what person would put that on their bike that was going off pavement? The rear tank option would be nice as a separate option but not many ride distances where carrying a couple of cans of fuel wouldn't do the trick on those fairly rare (for most people) occasions. The power side of the R model is already available via MotoShop Yamaha Parma/Diapason Racing.

I'm guessing you haven't been on this forum very long. At least 5 members have their ECU on the way to Motoshop Yamaha. One that I know of got his back already and reports a big improvement.

Tremor 38........I have been around for a while. I'm the only guy who has made a special trip to Parma from Canada and met with the developers and seen all the bits and discussed the mods available in person. So......I do know what I am talking about (most days anyway). ;D

No, no, I wasn't questioning your knowledge. I thought maybe you were unaware of the 'power restriction lifted' thread in the modifications forum, because your post read as if you were imparting this info for the first time. The thread started when somebody mentioned how an outfit in Germany could reflash the ECU..which led to somebody else mentioning Diapason. We even found out about a stateside outfit, but their flash leaves you with no T-mode. Anyway, my ECU is on the slow boat to Parma right now. As long as it gets back in time for riding season all will be Ok with the world. :->

The bike can already be ordered from Motoshop Yamaha Parma / Diapason:

http://www.motoshopyamaha.com/Veicoli/Default.aspx

Then click on the big black square with the EURO sign:

On that webform you can indicate how you are planning to use the bike (road, off-road, competition) and it also requires you to indicate that you want / are aware that the bike is compliant to EU emission laws or not!

See the section:

3) Usato da permutare:

So that might indicate that the Worldcrosser can be made available with the Diapason ECU flash.... just speculating here... but why else ask the buyer to choose an emission on-spec bike or an emission off-spec bike.... just sayin.... ::018:: ::015:: ::018::

Tremor38.......those are nice pieces in your pics. I have the drive shaft protector. The other piece protects the rear brake, disc and ABS sensor and brake line. Since I already had TT's ABS sensor protector on I am waiting on buying this Diapason piece. Each piece is 130 EU. BTW that's quite the range of colour choices. They sure will see (and hear) you coming. ::008::

Hi Roger & all, can anyone point me to a link online where one can buy the driveshaft protector, disc brake rotor/ABS protector? I read your ADVrider review and comparison months ago as it turns out, though nothing been added there for awhile.

I notice they have both 2011 and 2012 versions - with the older one €1200 cheaper. I don't think there's any differences between them besides paint? Maybe they are dressing up last year's model in World Crosser clothing to move unsold stock?

XT1200Z Super Ténéré ABS Worldcrosser Edition € 15.195,00
Modelljahr 2012
XT1200Z Super Ténéré ABS Worldcrosser Edition € 13.995,00

Correct, the WorldCrosser is nothing more than a pimped standard S10. In order to move their 2011 stock they now offer it as WorldCrosser at lowered pricing compared to a 2012 model in WoldCrosser trim.

Diapason also makes side cases that attach to the OEM stays with one additional brace between the bags at the rear. They are a 54/58 liter combo that stick out 1.5" further than the bars on each side...they look really sharp, but I'm not sure I need that much capacity. I think around 45 liters per side would be just about right.

want...where and how much? I really like the look of those and the fact that they attach to the stock brackets.

Can't answer your question, tg0dmv, but Welcome to the Forum. Maybe post under Member Intros so everyone can spot you and welcome you aboard. Where are you located, so some of the local members can track you down? Anyway, ::004:: . R. ::022::
