I find the stock windshiled decent for short rides but after some marathon days a bit of ear ringing from the buffeting. Looking for feedback for riders in the 5 11 range, what has worked- new windshields or adds ons??

thanks in advance, I want to make a decision shortly to get it here for spring.

At 6' w/ 32" inseem, I have found that with the stock screen in the low position my eyes start rattling around in my head at speeds over 45 mph. With the screen in the high position I'm good till around 70ish. I just added the winglets but the weather has not cooperated with me to get out and test them. I'm going to order the medium Calsi as it will be taller yet but not so tall that I will be looking through it. Plus the Calsi is wider which will only improve things. I'm lazy so I tend to slouch a little when I ride though so YMMV.

At 6'1" with 32" inseam, CalSci medium shield and then the Wasp bracket to tilt the shield back just a little. This combination with the Yamaha OEM wind deflectors makes a very very good air pocket for interstate speeds.

I had the Parabellum 24 on Wasp bracket. It was a little tall but did a great job.
My new one will be the 22 on a Madstad bracket. The Parabellum shields are really nicely made. No rough edges and optically clear.

Which size did you order? Please let me know how it works for you. Giving up on the CalSci LG.

I ordered the mid size with light tint. I have a Madstad bracket so it will be adjustable quite a bit. I hope it will lay down enough to get air on my face shield in the rain.

...yet another fan of the 24" Parabellum clear screen..with Wasp adjuster.
I do keep mine on the highest position and then just barely loose.
This allows for on the go adjustments for air flow. More on face, more total
Coverage. It also allows for the best mileage as you can either block the wind/air
Or totally be in it.

With the WASP adjuster, do the hand guards hit the windshield at full lock(Parabellum)?

I bought the Puig touring screen for mine as I had these on my FJR's and do a lot of miles, I then seen the Touratech adjustable mounts so fitted that on the S10 also. I'm only 5.8" so bit of a shorty but find the screen is spot on in all weathers ;) I do likle the fact I can now adjust the height and angle in seconds also.

Why Yamaha didn't sort a decent adjustable mount in the first place I dunno ::)

I had the same problem with the stock screen. First I tried the adjustment fixture from Touratech and this helped but did not get rid of the buffeting. Then I installed the Yamaha touring screen or what ever they call the larger Tenere screen and this did the trick plus I now have the adjustment. ::008::

I went the other direction. I put on a small Laminar Lip I had lying around from another bike (Buell.) It's about 8 inches high and 16 inches wide.

I get a lot of air flow, which I wanted because I'm in the desert. But the flow is smooth and it's not on my chest so I'm not being blown off the bike at speed.
I'm comfortable to 80 or so.

Looks like this:

After this pic, I ordered an adjustable bracket and tried the stock screen on it. That didn't work for me and now I have a clear Laminar Lip and the adjustable bracket.

I was running the Parabellum 22" screen on mine and quite frankly in Georgia it's to good of a screen. It was fine last winter but "oh Nellie" it's way to hot sitting behind it in the summer. I'm going the Madstad, stock, Laminar lip route to see if that will fill the bill. Just ordered the lip. Anyone interested is a used Parabellum?
