We seem to have gone off topic. I hope to have the vaccine in the next few days. Unfortunately I seem to have developed bronchitis so it’s not clear if I’ll be able to have it or not

Congrats and hoping for you.

We've been super protectful, partly because while she doesn't look or act it, Karen's Mom is 88. Just got the great news last night that she will get the first shot in 2 weeks. Hard to believe this is finally coming to be and very thankful for all the hard work by so many to make it so.

According to a study of ten million people published in November, asymptomatic transmission of COVID-19 did not occur at all.
According to this article they screened 10 million people in 2 weeks in China and they only found 300 asymptomatic people. Sure thing. Also, Big League politics is about as far right as you can get, everything is a conspiracy. I'll listen to Dr. Fauci and the CDC first.

First off, the survival rate isn't 99%, it's 97%. (Link below) Three out of every one hundred people that got the Covid have died.

Second, there's a hell of a lot more to this virus than just not dying. A lot of the 97% that "survived" are having a lot of problems.

I've read stories about Ultra Marathon runners that had the covid six months ago and they still can't walk 100 yards. I have a friend that was a runner/weight lifter. The man was in perfect health. Now he has to rest just going to his mailbox and back. Just because you survive doesn't mean you survived.

Yeah, and whoever talks lightly about the death rate. . . . is assuming that they won't be one of those three. Pretty ballsy. And, some people survive, and have zero issues. Some, like the ones you mentioned, are going to be dealing with the after affects for a long time. . . . and there's no way to tell who is going to have issues. . . . and who isn't. There's a lot to be said for quality of life. Scary AF.

Here's the actual estimates of Wuhan flu, IFR (infection fatality rate, the death rate for all infections) from CDC. I know, it's hard to find and some don’t want to believe it but it's on the CDC Website.

0-19 years: 0.00003 (0.003%)

20-49 years: 0.0002 (0.02%)

50-69 years: 0.005 (0.5%)

70+ years: 0.054 (5.4%).

I got mine; Moderna.
That's good news. Are you a healthcare worker? Up here in Wisconsin they don't even have enough for the doctors and nurses yet. Only a small number have received the vaccine. Only 47,000 have been administered as of today. One hospital had to throw away 500 doses due to human error. Somebody forgot to put them back in the freezer.

Is it just the uneducated public? The fact that they are questioning stuff indicates that they are educated but the fact that they end up believing some of this shit surely proves they aren’t
Education and intelligence are not the same thing. One of the least intelligent people with whom I dealt had a Ph.D in engineering. Highly educated, but an absolute idiot. My boss/owner of the motorcycle shop where i worked in college had only a GED, but was a brilliant businessman. Not highly educated, but very, very intelligent.

I have mild asthma and spouse induced high blood pressure. My doctor said my lungs are scared up from having pneumonia several times. One place I checked, said that didn't qualify at this time. My wife has diabetes, and received hers. That place said I qualified and stuck me; second dose in 30 days. So, apparently, like the rest of covid related information. . . . there's no hard and fast rules on how or when it's going to be distributed. I think that as many people that say they're not going to get vaxed. . . . there should be plenty for those that are.

After doing some reading, those 500 doses must have been left out for a while. Both vaccine will stay good at room temperature for hours. The Moderna vax only requires "normal" freezer temps; -4F. So, that's the one that most pharmacies will be getting/distributing. The Pfizer vax requires special freezers, which will limit who gets to dose it out. Otherwise both variations are similar, but they do vary. Beats the hell out of being on a ventilator.
