As far as the reports, that is usually the first thing I check when I log in for the day. I deferred to CW's admonition in the thread, rather than removing the meme. So the reports were not ignored, but I chose to leave the post in conjunction with my fellow moderators response. That was yesterday morning; so with seeing the further discussion and reports this morning, I removed the meme.
As of 11:37 it's still there.................

Still visible but it states [removed by moderator] LOL

When I was growing up "retarded" was the political correct term. Some schools even used it in their names. But when the word got a derogatory slang meaning attached to it things changed. Plenty of other words fall into that same category.

Seems the new forum change restricting editing of your own posts has allowed this issue to continue further than it otherwise would have.

It's bound to happen. I was waiting for it to happen. Almost has to happen. Nothing, and I mean nothing, is safe for every person on the planet. Even everyday items; milk, nuts, fruits, etc, etc. There's been talk on here about gun deaths, which I am not trying to minimize. But, nobody has mentioned motor vehicle deaths. Back in the early '90s, 50k+ people died in motor vehicle crashes. . . . each year. As of '16, they were down to 37k+ per year. I'm sure y'all will agree that the decrease is due to safer cars, not safer drivers. Everyone of us has accepted the risk of riding motorcycle. Most will stop riding only when we are just physically unable to ride anymore. And yet nobody would ever think about banning motor vehicle, or stop using them until nobody dies in a crash.

There will be reactions to the vaccine, some of which, sad to say, will likely be fatal. Still not going to stop me from getting it. 'Cuz, catching covid, and dying in the hospital . . . . and not being able to see my loved ones before I pass. . . . not acceptable. Y'all thoughts may/will be different.

As anybody who came to a Romney Camp-N-Ride knows, I have a real soft spot for people (not just kids) like the one in the meme. I left the meme originally because I thought the subject would drop with what I wrote and obviously it didn't, agree completely with AvGeek and you others, so the meme is now gone.

Back to the topic of whether or not to take the vaccine, it's either that (yes, a few will have side effects and more will whine), let the body count keep rising, or stay a hermit because the ONLY way to get COVID is from people contact.

Because at some point we do need to interact with others and even thought these are not 100% effective, the masks and distancing are all we have for now.

So as you had experience on a dairy farm, you most likely had a liquid nitrogen tank that you kept bull semen in. This kept it at an extremely low temperature. Could not the same concept be used on a vaccine that needs to stay cold?

That's what they are doing but the vaccines don't need to be kept quite that cold (LN2) so dry ice will be used. There was a whole presentation at the White House yesterday on how they are doing this for distribution.

Could it be that people in the US have finally realised that a seat belt was worth using  when i was over in '14 i was amazed at the amount of beltless passengers/drivers.

But yip cars are are getting safer IF you can afford a newy or almost new.

Not necessarily. Of course, depending on make/model, your really good safety feature cars are getting older. A couple of years ago, I saw a '95 Nissan Quest that had full side-impact airbags. Saved the drivers life. But, for the most part, anything made within the last 10 years is going to keep you alive. But, like you said, seatbelts are critical. The car can't keep you alive. . . . if you're not in it.

Surely you’re not suggesting that we get injected with bull semen?

No,o_O Liquid Nitrogen is used as a medium to keep semen viable. It stays cold indefinitely as long as it’s in a proper container. It’s inexpensive as it is mostly a by product of producing liquid oxygen. It could be used to keep a vaccine viable that needed to stay extremely cold.

and my name ain’t Shirley:D

Uh oh, looks like there been some bad reactions.

“MHRA Chief Executive June Raine told lawmakers such allergic reactions had not been a feature of the Pfizer's clinical trials.

Pfizer has said people with a history of severe adverse allergic reactions to vaccines or the candidate's ingredients were excluded from their late stage trials, which is reflected in the MHRA's emergency approval protocol.”

Who else has been excluded?
