Oh Wow that is chilly for that time of the year. I haven't been to Salt Springs yet. How did you like it? Where did you stay when you were there?
We rented a cabin at a place called Bass Champions Cabins very nice and basic if you are in the area don't forget to go to a bar called Cactus Jack's Great Southern atmosphere
We rode over to a place called Cedar Key on the other side of Florida for lunch if you haven't been check it out

The best part of it ....
It's just one of them literally 10-15 minutes away...
I have probably 8- 10 options I can choose without going too far.
Luckily I an spoilt lol
Where in Italy are you? Looks northern, but I would have expected to see some snow in those pictures.

I live north east, just one hour from Venice so to speak.
There is snow but slightly higher than my aerea.
It used to snow here too but 20 - 30 years ago now it is rare to have heavy snow falling here...
The snow now it is only 30 -40 minutes away from my village

Crown King and out to Horse Thief Lake.
Great Lunch at the Saloon in Crown King. Mountain mining area around the turn of the century.
Horsethief Basin gets its name from the rustlers who stole horses and cattle and drove them to holding corrals along the old Horse Thief Trail. There they would alter the stock's brands and sell the animals. Horsethief Basin provided perfect conditions for such activities. The dam looks like it was built by hand.

Crown King is awesome!
Definitely need to go back............
The bad news was they ran out of chili for lunch... They had old pictures on the wall from when they built the dam. Partly why we went looking for it.

If you do, I would advise not to ride it alone on the XT1200.
Most of the road is easy, but there is one small section on a fairly steep grade that the locals called "The Waterfall"
I was glad I had a riding-partner when we came upon this section.
We both had to help each-other through here.

While we were sitting there enjoying our lunch and a nice cold-beer at Crown King, this older fellow (one of the locals) was commenting about our bikes.
He says "You boys headed to Prescott? I wouldn't take those machines down the Senator Hiway.......you won't make it through that way"
Little did he know we had just came up that way.....................

It's a great ride! Awesome scenery! Just be aware of this section.

I definitely want to go back......................Need to pay a visit to the Cleator "Yacht Club"

Thanks for the heads up. I usually know when to turn around. So you went from Prescott south? Did you go up or down that section? Typical for trails out here to have a sketchy section.

Was not familiar with the yacht club... Looks interesting. Saw signs for Mayer. We went through Bumble Bee.

Out for a afternoon ride around the Sutter Buttes in the Big Valley of Northern California.

The Almond trees are half way through their bloom.

Used the back way back off the pavement up the western foothills toward home. A real nice 160 mile loop. Amen to warm n safe heated gear, it was a bit nippley today.
