Good ride with Walt today. Hennepin Canal and Illinois River meandering ride.

Got interesting late in the ride. This is not what it looks like!

I got off to move some limbs, turned my back on her, and she laid down for a nap. Cleared past two sections of limbs, before giving up and turning around. Too hot and tired.

Suspect one of the sticks took umbrage with Walt riding over it, doing damage to his upper radiator hose. Side trip into town on the way home for field expedient repairs to reduce the leak. I guess thats why it is called adventure riding.

Go lost looking for chicken nuggets. I found this place instead, no nuggets... I guess I'll keep looking. If looks familiar it's because it is and was in a movie. If you can guess right I'll mail you some chicken nuggets + free shipping. Round trip 180 miles, temp 82 - 104IMG_20200813_152600_022.jpg

°114 today with tomorrow being higher. This ride kicked my ass and threw up 3 times due to heat exhaustion. I had to throw in the towel and hotel it. William's AZ 492 miles and tomorrow will be the grand canyon.View attachment 70368
I wont enter the desert without Oral Hydration Salts and a few liters of water. Dehydration is no joke. Feels like dying.

Ya I was at the edge of it become dangerous. I had my ice water and stopped every 1 to 1.5 hours. But your right it's no joke and worst I've had is almost having a heat stroke at the NV/CA border because traffic was backed up and it was °112

Worst i had was at Willow Springs raceway, which is in the California desert between Palmdale and Lancaster. On the second day of track school i hit the wall. Puked and almost passed out. ORS + water and i was good in 30m...but without that i was screwed. Taught me a very clear lesson about how its too easy to get dehydrated in the desert. Im used to a forest climate.
