The new GraveSport Cam Chain Tensioner against the original (2F) from my 2010 model.

Got it in place. This is before setting the tension.
It looks like, when it comes new, that it’s almost at the right place to put in - but I did slacken it off a few turns.
Turned the motor over by hand a few times to make sure the chain didn’t slip.
All good!

Now, this looks like a new spark plug that doesn’t have the electrode on top. They’re actually made like this to help make the burn inside the combustion chamber be more even without the cold spot caused by the electrode.
Bike started & ran with no problem.

I might add that I read on this forum about spark plug holes getting corrosion in them. Only number 4 had corrosion in it so I’ll be keeping an eye on it. Put some WD40 down the holes as well in the hopes it’ll help keep the corrosion at bay.

Went to do an oil change as well but looks like I didn’t have my usual store of extra filters in the shed

Wow. The last time I installed a plug like that was in an '87 Rx-7. The Mazda's plug tip was a little more recessed and arced to plug body. Haven't seen one since.

These are only quite recent from what I can determine. Made by a mob called Brisk & they have quite an extensive range while being relatively affordable.

They have a supposed life of about 60,000km so, if they do, they’ll be good value.

We hit 112° today. 20% humidity. 104° is the coolest temp predicted for us for the next ten days. 'Hatter is maybe going to get some rain and drop below 100° on Tuesday. We've been rainless since June 15th when we got that monster hail.

That’s something you can live without… stupidly hot weather & then getting smashed by hail

If I were flippant (& I usually am), I could say that things could always be worse. I hear that housing is opening up in California with all the people moving to Texas & Florida….

I kid… I wouldn’t wish California on anyone

I used one of those do-it-yourself kits from auto parts store. Can't remember which specific brand. Comes with the pads and final treatment. Pads attach to a supplied adapter that goes in a drill. Worked great and only cost about $35usd
