What did you do to that poor windshield? Not sure what i did to that windshield. I am going to say the salt and calcium chloride they put on the roads here in winter did that. I don't have a better story so that is the one i will use. haha. I do ride year round and my bikes see every kind of weather there is for this area.

Surprisingly they're quite common around here, but. . . . apparently they are a preferred meal of coyotes. There are frequently signs up for missing Corgis.

Maaaan, there's something getting on it that it doesn't like. I've never had one get like that. I used to ride year round, but out "winters" are mild. And, they just started using a "brine solution" in the last couple of years, so . . . .

That windscreen looks like it had some cleaner put on it that it didn't like. Seen that before.
Yes it does look like it has had something put on it that should not have been like the wrong kind of cleaner. I really don't wash my bike that much and that haze has slowly gotten worse over the last 4 or 5 years. You can't see it in the pictures but when the light hits it just right it looks like colored jagged lines in the plastic. Not sure what that is from.

Hi there! It looks to me like it happens to the front head lamps in the vehicles, with the sun they get just like that, and there are some polish products available in the market to polish and get a bright shinny looking, woult it work on it? why do not give a try?
Regards.

Noticed some shaking, especially at low speed turns. Went to a shop for rebalancing, and apparently the front wheel rim is warped.
Now I wonder 1) how did it happen and 2) what is my best option.

How bad is the warp? Were spokes previously checked and tight?

Some degree of warp can be tuned out via spokes. I would look for a real dirtbike or mtn bike shop to see if they can true the wheel.

If there isn't someone local to you who can true it, send it to Woodys wheel works and let them fix it for you.

Definitely can be because of the spokes. It isn't hard to pull a wheel out of true when tightening them.

What was your process when you looked at yours? Did you check / tighten each one in order (ie 1,2,3,4,....) or did you skip around in some predetermined pattern?

The good news is that the problem, most likely, can be fixed.

Checked front maybe 10k miles ago.
So it can be because of the spokes?
Most likely, unless there has been rough riding, accident, or abuse. How much runout is there? (Measure by spinning the wheel against a fixed device.)

I lubricated the swing arm bearings and shock linkage. I realized you can't do the front bearing which is attached to the frame.
The linkage bolt cannot be removed due to the exhaust pipe.
I decided to drop the exhaust so I could lube the bearing. PITA

Inserted the bolt from the opposite side during assembly.
Next time it should be much easier.
Not sure why Yamaha designed it that way.

I washed the *^&%$# bird crap off of my seat, windshield, front fender, and one hand grip. I cannot understand this. I live on a farm with a few acres of space to do this bodily elimination yet they choose to hit the blue bomb whenever it is parked outside. Two ATV's sit nearby, clean as a whistle. One of the ATV's is blue and a Yamaha too. Maybe it is just two wheels they attack.

Plus the manual says nothing about having to remove the exhaust to remove the bolt.

Dual compound tire? The center appears to have more tread left than the sides. My A41s have softer edges, which I've been puting to use. I've been seeing how hard I can accelerate while leaned over in a turn. They stick well, but, I can also feel that it wouldn't take much more torque to break them free. But, they are staying round.

I agree with Sierra. Could be camera angle but the way that picture presents itself, looks like the (as shown) left side of old tire has a noticeable difference than the middle or right.
