Throw one of these in your tool pouch:

Another trick is a 1/2" coupler nut from Home Depot or similar. Some, not all, are 19mm(3/4") across the flats and it mimics the allen wrench stub idea.
Good idea, just ordered one from McMaster for $1.40!

Oh, I have one of those step tools in my on-bike tool kit. But the garage has a 19mm, 1/2" drive Allen socket that I made up. That breaker bar and 1/2" drive ratchet make quick work of the tire removal. Not to mention the full size 27 mm combo wrench.

Correct... both are GSAs, the one on the right side of the picture is a new water cooled GSA. We actually had an older GSA on this trip with us, but he didn't get in the shot.

Noob!

Quick easy setup of 4 USB Socket power adapter. Work in progress for a more permanent solution.

Installed the Off-the-Road clutch slave cylinder, disassembled and replaced clutch safety switch spring with a lighter spring from a pen. Installed newer Mitas E-07 front for upcoming trip. Installed Cyclops LED headlight kit. And washed all the bugs off from the last trip. Now off to pack.

Previously I'd fitted a tool box to the side if the bike but after fitting pannier rails it was difficult to use so I tried a frame bag off a push bike. Works a treat, big enough for my tyre inflator and some small tools.

Not all today but over the past 2 weeks. This is my 3rd Tenere so I had a pretty good idea what works for me as far as farkles go.

I bought it.

I went with Givi crash bars this time. I had Hepco Becker on my last 2 S-10's and I wanted to try something different.

As far as comfort for me, I like grip puppies to fatten up the bars and tech specs so I can grip the tank when I'm flogging the bike around twisters.

.

.
My first S-10 I had Jesse bags and the second I had givi trekkers I think. This time I went with the OEM Yamaha bags. I got them for a bargain and they fit the bike well. If I need more room I'll just strap a duffel to the back.

.
Got the 600 mile service done at the dealer and ran it up past 800 miles afterwards today.
Still deciding which skid plate to go with. I had the H & B the last 2 times and it worked well but we'll see.
I ordered the rubber spacers for the seat mod today.

Love this bike...

Nice bike Dcc. I have stayed with the OE boxes. Living in crowded southern England the larger side cases would make filtering more interesting than I would like. But, I do have a large Shad top case for 2 up touring, for the bulky lightweight stuff. And how do you find the bead seat?

I love the bead seat. It's a little slippery, but living in Florida it's a must for flowing air down there.
