You are not alone Jory !

I did a very similar thing. I was changing my bars and decide to put on new grips at the same time. Completely forgetting I had heated grips I happily sliced through the clutch side grip until to my horror I saw the heater element :'( Purely by luck I had only cut through the rubber and not the element. At this moment I decided to cut my losses (no pun intended) and managed to glue the grip back together along with a couple of small cable ties as extra security. As they were still working I decided to leave the grips as they were to get me through the winter. Thumbs up to Gorilla glue it's held for months ::008::

Lessons learned..................1. Use those two round things above my nose before acting
2. Use that big mushy thing with electrodes that lives inside my skull
3. Take solace in knowing I'm not the only one :D

Groundhog -

I guess I just assumed that the throttle side heating element would be like the clutch side. At least you were smart enough to cut your losses early (pardon the pun) ::008::

Took my bike out for 165 miles on a solo ride. Enjoyed the unseasonable California 70-80 degree weather.

Really enjoyed the ride, and the bike. As I rode along, I reflected how fortunate I am to have total trust in my bike, that as long as it has good tires and fuel, I'm confident that it won't let me down!

Rolled into the garage at 9,767 miles. Looking forward to riding this bike well into the five digit mileage!

Took it to the dealership to have Fault Error Codes check/repaired. One of the codes was about the rear suspension (EAS).

Yesterday we finished checking the valves on my 2014ES. No shims needed to be changed. we also checked the sync of the throttle bodies. No adjustment was needed there either. this was the first check of the valves etc at 34,150 miles. Not bad!

mounted a six inch Rigid E-6 light bar under the fairing, BRIGHT. Dont like the switch, though and I dont think it will hit the front fender when I am doing crossup jumps. Easy to mount BTW. ::021::

I've had Shorai batteries for years now, good for a tracked sportbike where weight counts, but good luck in the extreme cold..

Replaced the battery with an Exide YTZ14S .... got a deal at a local supplier.... the SW Motech engine bar needed loosening to get the battery swapped over.... then painted on a bit of ACF50 wherever I could get it ;)

After installing the Shorai battery yesterday I didn't like the short lead for the charger so today I extended it by four feet so I could route it under the tank and store it under the seat when not in use. I am happier now. David

After a bit of fiddling about I fitted my 9 1/2" 90w LED lightbar under the headlights using the factory mounting holes already there. It fills the space completely and looks great and obviously it's very bright ! It's just going to be for high beam only and it's going to be on a separate switch to make it 'road legal', ahem... No pic's sorry.

Here's a link to an identical item - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OSRAM-9-5-90W-LED-Work-Light-Bar-Flood-Beam-Truck-Jeep-Car-Lamp-Off-Road-SUV-/361471692308?hash=item5429644e14:g:2ysAAOSwoydWnfjP

I went for the optional 'flood beam'which is probably ideal with a nice wide spread (ooohh matron).
