Finished moving over all the farkles from the 2012 to the new leftover 2013. Traded the 2012 with 50k and with incentives brought home the 2013 OTD for just under $4k. A plus is that all farkles fit. Always wanted a white and wasn't interested in buying new racks for the TTs and a few of the other items and wasn't sold on the ES yet.

I dro0ped mine . Right off my brand new Harbor Freight trailer. So, I need the top bracket on the brake master cylinder. I ordered the mirror ( actually two aftermarket mirrors)...
First time dropping the pig. Now I know why it's called that.
Also broke a lock on my Pelican cases. Hope I can get another.

Any help with links for these things is appreciated.

On yeah, the ABS light staying on , too. Any suggestions on that is also appreciate.

Which way did she lay down, left or right? Ah, brake master... I was gonna say you might have pinched or damaged the ABS sensors or harness. Wrong side.

Installed the Dash Shelf, put in a voltage meter and a USB charger. Protip, a lennox 1 1/8th inch hole saw works perfectly for drilling the dash shelf, ran about 11 bucks but makes it dead simple. Wired it into the PC-8. Trying to finish up the wiring before I install the Altrider crash bars. Should I wire my heated gear directly to the battery or run it through the PC-8? I'm also looking for a garage door opener that will work off the highbeam signal. I've seen these before, but don't know where.

My heated gear is on a switched circuit on my PC-8. No issues or worries.

Quick question. Does installing the dash shelf have a noticeable difference in the air hitting you in the chest area? Reason I am asking is with my big Harley there was a plate that I installed on the rear of the triple tree that made a significant difference on the air hitting me (great during the winter, taken off during the summer).

I've read in the dash shelf thread that it does not make any difference. The winglets that go on the sides however do make a huge difference in keeping air off your chest.

Got her outta storage yesturday,change the oil and air filter,had some issues with her not wanting to shift so I removed pivot bolt cleaned it off lubed it up and she be butter again,6 months is too long to let her sit,not just winter storage,back operation kept me from riding,its all good now.

Lol,nothing fell off ,it was painful to say the least,the dr asked when I first felt the pain , I told him it was in 8th grade,you shoulda seen the look on his face.

You can crown me "Stupidest Guy on this Forum" now .....

Wanted to replace some slightly worn grips on my 2014 ES. Now, I've replaced the grips on my dirt bikes as well as other motorcycles I've had before.

First the left side - take the razor blade and slice through the rubber. I notice that the grip itself has a small molded tunnel for the wiring to go through. Very Nice. Just slice around that so the wiring stays with the heating element already attached to the bar. Pull the grip off. Slide the new grip on (I notice it is a bit fatter having to slide over the heating element) but I get it on. Trimmed up the end of the grip and reattached the bar-end weight and hand guard. Not bad at all. Let's move on to the throttle side....

Let's begin with the same procedure - take the razor blade and slice down the length of the grip. Oh this is much easier - it just goes down to the white plastic throttle sleeve. Wait - the grip flange appears to be inside the throttle housing body. No problem - just loosen those two allen bolts up. Ahh, now I can slice through that flange and get it off. I use the razor blade to cut through the grip flange to join my length wise cut on grip. Voila - just pull the sliced grip from the bar....EXCEPT IT'S STILL CONNECTTED BY WIRING!(?) WTF? Jesus - I now see that there are two DIFFERENT ways these grips work. On the throttle side the heating elements are incased in the rubber of the grip itself! I've just basically cut the grips from the wires themselves! At this point, I take a break and walk to the workbench and stare at my own hands. Ok, back over to the bike, so I slide the new grip over the throttle sleeve itself. And then tighten the allen bolts (Not too tight - does impact smooth throttle roll).

So - I know the throttle side is toast - let's see if I get any warmth on the left side at least? I toggle the menu button....no heated grip icon even shows up now. Awesome.

At this point I'm looking at the bike thinking "Jory, you are a dumbass. The power of the internet at your fingertips and you didn't look this up first? You overconfident f**k!"

PROS:
- I know a bit more about my motorcycle now.
- I have revalidated for the millionth time that I need to "take my time"
- Grips LOOK fantastic
- Grips FEEL fantastic
- Thank God it's springtime and in the 70's in Texas

CONS:
- No heated grips
- I will have to REPLACE at a minimum the right side system
- I'll endure the laughter of my friends and family on this one.
