I too went for a ride for a few hours today, although in a much less free state (ironically nick named as the free state). Felt great to get some fresh 40 degree air after about 10 days of straight rain.

I also put my winding roads mounting plates on to my givi racks so I can run Wolfman Dry expedition bags. Also ordered an altrider pillion luggage plate to strap my duffle to when I do the TET this spring. I can't wait! The last (most expensive) piece of kit that I need is crash bars/skid plate and I'll be ready to roll.

I installed new spark plugs and air filter. While I had it torn down to that level, I went ahead and removed the forks and steering head. I wanted to check the lubrication as well as freshen up the torque on the ring nuts. I had occasionally felt a "clicking" when riding over rough pavement or gravel. I didn't even have to mess with the bearings. They looked great with plenty of grease from the factory. I cleaned the stem up a little and added fresh grease just to make it look pretty. I torqued twice according to the procedure in the service manual.

I took my time, and re-assembled everything, torquing to spec along the way. I got to install my new Heidenau K60 front that I had mounted on the rim a couple weeks ago. All in all, I spent a lot of time on the whole thing. I finally went to bed this morning at 5:30am.

I just got back from a short test ride. I started off really slow in my neighborhood, testing the steering and brakes. I wanted to be careful, since I had removed/reinstalled so much stuff. Everything ran smooth and true ::018::

I'm happy with the Heidenaus so far. I'm a new convert, after having gone through three sets of Battlewings. I haven't had them offroad yet, but I'm very satisfied with their road manners so far. I don't think I've had to give up much ride quality on the road to get a whole lot better performance off the pavement.

Included a pic from somewhere along the way.

Job...done.

Dave

Logged 134 miles today...around North Georgia and Tennessee. I hit some forest roads after crossing the Ocoee River.

This is where I turned around. I didn't attempt that mudhole!

I installed a Denali Soundbomb horn. Fairly easy installation and the thing is loud as heck! When I went to put the side panel back on, I had routed the wire loom outside of the battery and thus the panel wouldn't fasten properly. So removed the battery cables to position the loom closer in. When I reattached the ground cable, I managed to strip the terminal threads. Fortunately, Motobatt terminals are replaceable, so I ordered a replacement set. With the cold weather and snow expected, plus work, I won't be riding in the next 4-5 days anyway so no biggee.

Extremely minor, but thought I'd share.

Bluclik... Wireless music controls on the cheap.

I usually don't like to listen to music while I ride unless I'm going to be riding for a really long time. I'm getting ready to head out on a week long trip with some friends and this was a must. On previous trips it was a nightmare to get my music player out of my pocket, get my gloves off and pause the music whenever we came to a stop... or 2 seconds after filling up and getting ready to leave and one of us remember something to say.

This seems to work flawlessly. Via Bluetooth, you can pause, skip songs, adjust volume and answer calls. It's compatible with android and iphones . They claim a 1 hour charge will last about 60 days.

Runs about $25 on Amazon

Is this waterproof? Have you ridden in the rain with this? I am very interested and want to know your further thoughts/findings if any.

Thank you

Installed Cyclops LED headlights. Headlight grill. Brake pedal extender. ABS kill switch. Left and Right heel protective guards. Extended warranty 4 years through Bloodlne's uncle E.T.

Waiting for Eastern Beaver 3 circuit solution to arrive so I can install Cyclops aux. driving light combo kit. Installing an Off-The-Road gear shift lever once I get the black anodized gear bolt from them. (They sent me a silver one, but the black bolt looks better.)

Yeah, I'm committed to the beast.

Got a lot done this weekend to the Tenere and the KLR Farkle'd it up quite a bit. Next step is skid plate, crash bars and some tires for the S10.

This lightbar (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L0R5ZQQ?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00). I used the plug and play harness as well from electrical connection. Really made this install easy.

GIVI racks to replace the OEM Panniers

Put some Tusk Handguards on the KLR

And an SW-Motech Skid plate. Not particularly impressed with this as it mounts to the flimsy little sheet metal mounts that the stock plastic part mounts to. It'll probably fall off after the first hit and will require some repair and structural improvement.

Rolled her out of the garage and rode in to work. 26 degrees today...took a few extra minutes to get her warmed up. Had to pull over 5 minutes into the commute when the oil pressure light came on. Absolutely loving the Oxford heated grips. Discovered I need new riding gear, as the worn out Firstgear jacket and pants do not work too well for commuting in sub-freezing temperatures.

That is an oil level light telling you it needs more oil.

Courtesy of Jaxon, I added a set of Arrow headers and an Arrow exhaust, then the Ride On Adv skid plate and Alt Rider Crash bars. Great stuff! David
When you get time, take a video of that exhaust, would love to hear it.

I don't see how that would be possible since it is technically over filled by about 1/8th quart. Only lights up on me when bike has been cold...so oil is still thick like molasses. Once at operating temp for a few minutes the light never comes on again.
