Installed the OEM top case making sure to use plenty of loc-tite on the 2 screws in the lock.
And now it's been stickered to match the panniers with all reflective stuff. Well, minus the sticker from placed I've been... those will come.

I bought a new battery, actually Saturday but it was over 4 years old and still cranking the bike just not with authority. $152 bucks and same Yuasa that come in it. All is good now.

:lamp: Replaced headlight bulb and marker light bulb.

The left side marker light had been out for a few weeks. It's a pretty inconsequential part, so I haven't been in a hurry to fix it. Last time it was out, I had the bike at the dealer for the headlight harness recall, so had them replace the marker lamp while they were in the neighborhood. They noted that they didn't have the correct bulb, something like it takes a 3 amp but they only had a 5 amp in stock. Please don't take those values literally. Anyway, I told them to put in what they had, order me the correct bulb, and next time it goes out, I'll replace it.

A few days ago, the left headlight goes out. This is an important part, so I'm in a hurry to fix. Wow, $25 for an OEM light bulb! That's from my usual online discount supplier, RMATVMC. So of course I order 2 because if one goes, the other may not be far behind.

Good news is - changing a headlight bulb is really easy. Bad news is - I make it way more work by having a dash infill panel with close fitting fasteners. This is probably a good candidate for plastic, reusable, rivet type fasteners instead of nuts and bolts.

Now I know why I wasn't in a hurry to replace the marker light bulb. It's way more effort than the headlight. 4 bolts for the headlight fascia plus 4 bolts for the headlight assembly. It's not hard, just a lot of effort for an inconsequential little bulb.

Funny thing I now notice about the lights operation.
Previously - at key on, the marker lamps light while the headlights do not. This makes sense as a safety measure and to reduce electrical load at start up. Then when the engine is running, the headlights come on.
Now - at key on, only the left marker light is on while the right side is not. When the engine runs, both marker and headlights are on. I didn't knowingly touch any lights or wiring harnesses on the right side since those lights were working. This is not a big deal, just curious. Maybe the right marker light is jealous because the left side got a new bulb?

Looking pretty clean still, George.
Yes I know ... Put the first 700 on the first few days then had to postpone trips I had planned due to family priorities...hopefully will get some rides in soon...the bike really is smoother than my 2013.. Worthy upgrades..

Bring it down to Lewisburg, WV next weekend and we'll let you lead us on a ride..... You've got a good track record from what I remember on the Squirrel Gap Rd.

I installed Oxford Grip Heaterz an Eastern Beaver 3CS for the grips, heated jacket liner plug and charging plug.

After trying a couple different glues for the grips I ended up using a gel super glue for the left. The throttle side has seemed to have held with the Loctite Go2 Gel after testing out the heat on the grips, it did not hold on the left side.

Next comes the Seat Concepts foam and covers, they should be here for weekend project. ::001::

Just installed a set of Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tires. Put almost 11k miles on the Metzler Tourance NEXTs. Can't wait for the canyons on Sunday.

I know I found George to be pretty unshakable on a dirt road. I have no doubt he'd be a good ride leader for you Alan anytime schedules would allow it to happen.

Yes, Pummeled on 4 BDR'S and many day rides. It had very little integrity left and a good knock would wrinkle the oil filter.

My ALT has been through some wars and still gets the job done. There has been many time that I couldn't put the side stand down or up.
In Fairbanks this year I couldn't get to one of the drain plugs until Matt and I got real physical with it. I like it though. I can change the oil filter without removing anything.
