I had the Mitas E07 Dakar on my Vstrom and while on a trip noticed this cut in the sidewall . I rode about 300 miles home from VT like this at a slowed pace and it held air but was definitely a concern. The minimal off roading I did was just fire road stuff, and was not in any areas where I was concerned about someone slicing the tire the sidewalks are strong so don't know if it could have just split, but figured I would post to keep an eye on them. I have run multiple sets and would like to think this was just an isolated case and plan on running them again on my new Tenere....
Did you clean the area around the cut? Looks like a rim pinch. Stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Yes the clean spot around area is from my finger. Cleaned area and put some water on it since it was sat night and had to decide to stay until Monday to have changed locally or ride it home. Riding it was not the smart choice, but it worked out ok. Had a spare set of battelwings at home so just put those on since Vstrom is now my commuter and I am back on a Tenere for traveling.

That cut would not have needed to be noticed on the non-Dakar E07. Wall is too thin to tolerate that one.

Had the shift linkage off the bike to straighten it back out after a drop and managed to snap the shifter lever pivot bolt off in the frame of the bike. Luckily I was able to get it right out with an easy out, chased the threads to clear out the old blue loctite and RockymoutainATV got me a new linkage bolt quickly. Unfortunately I missed an entire weekend of riding. But got to spend sometime on the KLR instead so it wasn't all bad. A nice day on a bike is a nice day on a bike.

Oh yeah I put my RDL Seat on too. Realized I needed rox risers to get me into the correct riding position for the RDL - those will be here this week.

Made a little ram type clamp to install the old zumo 550. Also started to install a double Usb socket into opposite side of the standard 12v one. Found out I have a headlamp bulb gone and don't have an h7 spare so going on Amazon for a new pair.

A little bit of fettling at Hilltop on the Dyno...There was a dip in Torque and BHP around 3500rpm which has been ironed out giving more torque and power at that point , top end torque curve is much improved... no more max power , just smoother all the way

Disappointed that my stock rear Metzler only gave me 3000 miles. :'(
Front was good so I put a Anakee 3 on the rear for now. Haven't had much of a chance to try it but if it works good maybe I'll put one on the front when the Metzler wears out.
