Put on my new 24" Calsci screen Thursday ::012::, finally got to go for a quick test run this morning..
I've got the same screen and fitted a small MRA spoiler to it. With the Touratech adjustable bracket I have finally found screen Nirvana ! You can see a picture of it in the UK meet section ::008::

Let's hope the Hepco Becker skid plate won't eat the fender
Hopefully not, but it looks like you're going to regret that Fenda Extenda. BTDT, different skid plate, shorter fender now.

That's an 02 maybe?

Unbelievably fun bike to ride. At sea level with a pipe and the carbs jetted PERFECT, that thing deals grins in spades.

Over the past week or so, oil change, clutch basket. Scrapped the chickens and rocks off (wish I had washed it before winter) and today moved it from the back shop, up front to the ready to ride garage.

Took my Tenere out and got it dirty for the FIRST time ::014::

Leading up to that though...
- PC8
- Water proof USB outlet on the opposite side to the 12v socket (looks almost factory)
- SAE plug
- Garmin 590lm mounted on the crossbar with TPMS
- Screaming banshee
- PIAA LED Driving lights
- TKC80's

Wanted to wait until I got my Altrider bars fitted (Which have been held up in customs but should be hear any day) before I took the S10 off road but I couldn't wait any longer.

So I headed to a road I have always wondered where it went but have never been brave enough to go down on any of my previous bikes for fear of getting a stone chip or getting bogged.

As the road deteriorated from bitumen to busted up bitumen and gravel to just gravel, to gravel and mud and eventually to just mud i just soldiered on the Tenere's TCS light flashing like a christmas tree and me smiling from ear to ear... when i got to the end and could go no further i didn't care because it was so much fun getting there And i could now do it all again going back. This time Feeling very comfortable with the bike I switched the TCS off ripped a 180 spewing mud all over the place and possibly destroying half the ligaments in my knee trying not to drop the bike!

The reverse ride was down hill through the mud which was fun in a scary fun way! I don't have a huge amount of off road experience so learning as I went, having some fun fishtailing the bike and testing the ABS on the the different surfaces.

The TKC80's are very impressive off road, just so much grip! on the bitumen they are Okay it took a little while to get used to them but I guess it's a compromise I only had them slip once mind you it was in the rain on a wet hairpin with the bike banked over and rolling on the power, which probably would have happened on the OEM yes or any tyres for that matter.

The bike tipped in a little funny to begin with but I got used to it and was eventually riding how I normally ride all my bikes... FAST! Yes I'd prefer street tyres but I'd rather have the knobby tyres for off road use and this bikes primary use will be off road with only highway cruising to get me to some of the four wheel drive tracks and fire trails I want to explore so I will accept the compromise.

So all that is left to do now is fit the Bars and skid plate that are on their way I have some fog lights I intend to mount on the Bars too and I am done Farkling then it will all about riding.

iClint, fantastic post!

I just rode with you on your maiden ADV run. On your REAL adventure bike on a REAL adventure ride.
Not everybody does that. Nor do they intend to. (and that's ok)

I predict that you are going to bond big time with this amazing machine. :)

Cheers.

I took my Tenere to the Whistle Stop Cafe where the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" was filmed.

I finally managed to get hold of a Madstad screen adjuster for my S10. Won the e-bay auction for it last week, it dropped onto my doormat this morning and I fitted it this evening. ::013:: ::013::
That looks like it sits the screen a bit further forward than the Touratech offering, my screen is very close to the winglets. Have you had a chance to play with it yet ?

Well today I used my bike for work. The weather was forecast to be superb (for April) and I had several site / customer visits planned for rural Northumberland. The Merc' stayed at home and I did 170 miles in glorious sunshine and got paid for it ! Now that's a good day out ::008::
