You shouldn't encourage me DirtDad. 1 or 2 compadres is all it takes for a crazy man to think he's on track. :)
Made my wife lead me down the road (in car) with Cruise set at 40, then 50, so I could check the speedometer. I thought it was WAY off. Even for a motorcycle. On my commute today, that I have done every day for 12 years, the Speedo was reporting crazy speeds. 70, when it felt like maaaaybe 60. 55 when it couldn't be more than 45. Know what I mean?

Well, turns out it's even less optimistic than the Tenere. Car 40 was 42. Car 50 was 53.

Just amazing. Little scooter will just effortlessly run up to 70. A real sweet spot, in fact. Real speed is probably 66 or so. But it seems even slower. What threw me was I was blowing by traffic and it just seemed too easy.

Feel invisible though. Don't like that part. Big sofa seat close to the ground. Feel much safer on my jacked up Tenere.

That's funny Bruce.
Yea, EVERYBODY saw me riding it. Big dude wearing Klim on a scooter? No place to hide man.

But nobody was saying "hey scooter dude, get outta my way"
More like "did you see that? That was a scooter, wasn't it?"

Officer - "Do you know why I pulled you over?"
tubebender - "Because you thought I was cute?"

Never understood why they ask that question - it's like a FST for how easily you'll incriminate yourself.

Changed my coolant. The exciting bit is that I did it myself with some help from the forum. ::013::

Sounds like you are making progress. At least you thought about riding.

What, no scooter luv here?

In 2012 I flew to Vegas, picked up a Vespa 300GT, rode to S Ca. to play in the canyons( I was the only scooter at the Rock Store!), then up to Yosemite, then home to Fl.. 5k miles in 30 days all back roads except getting into and out of Ca.. I've been cross country many time, spent time in all of the lower 48 but never had a trip I enjoyed more. Everyday was an adventure! It's about how you ride, not what you ride....

Paul, thanks. My manhood is back intact. :)

Seriously, it was a 15 second decision. (my FAVORITE kind. Life is designed to delight in what confronts us)

Anyways, I totally underestimated the scooter thing. It's hilariously entertaining. So effortless. Twist n go on a lounger. I thought my Tenere had the best OEM seat I ever have sat on. Not even close.

Fear not though, I'm dying to get my Tenere back on the road. It's my friend. I miss it.

I had the 2" Rox risers and longer brake/clutch lines installed by our department mechanic. I had him do it because I wanted him to drain all brake/clutch fluid and replace. He has a cool rig for bleeding lines. I bought the risers and brake/clutch lines from Jaxon's place.

FYI the mechanic had a really tough time busting loose the brake and clutch lines, not from the handle bar end but from the junction end. I called Jaxon and left a message and he called me right back. Great service! Anyway, Jaxon had not heard of others having any difficulty separating the lines but in the case of my bike they were a real bear. Our mechanic is really good at what he does, so it was crazy how long it took.

Just letting others know in case they experience the same thing. Thanks Jaxon for calling back so quick and offering input.

I love the risers. Much better!

I guess your mechanic and I have something in common.

Cleaned off my boxes so I could install my recently acquired ZION NP sticker....I think I need to apologize to all of the millions of insect families that were murdered on my trip last week. O:)
Looked at wicking under wear since it is already 98* here today....that's right Canadians ....ninety stinking eight degrees in early April, or as you would say, almost 37* C .....gonna be a HOT summer I fear.

Ride now Cali, ride now.
