Never too late to get to the party.

Now go back and read everything you read BEFORE you caved in. Sound different now?
How could we have been any clearer? I ask because we still aren't convincing to a few. Lol

Seriously though, I'll give one WHOOHOOO for you! :)

It truly, truly, truly transforms the bike. The ONE thing about the Tenere I had an issue with was its pep - now my uber-low-weight/über-high-horsepower-bike days are done - especially for my primary ride, so I wasn't looking for a rocket or I never would've bought this bike. BUT! I genuinely enjoy this bike more now than I ever thought I could've. The flash is simply tits!

And ain't going nowhere anytime soon - I've never said that about any bike after nearly two years of ownership. It was like getting an all-new motorcycle, and when I get around to changing out suspension parts here in the near future, I'm willing to bet I'll get that feeling all over again. What a machine.

Oh, and my fuel mileage (by the display) went up considerably as well - somewhere along the lines of 5-6 MPG...

Still gathering info on the ECU re-flash. What exactly did you end up with, all GEN 2 or a combination?

Does the rear brake fluid protection keep muck and grunge fromt getting up behind the reservoir? Ive noticed that to be a problem on my Super Ten. Have seen the Hepco a& Becker version, which is a plate that mounts back there and looks like it would definitely fix that issue.

Also interested in how you like the headlight protector. I haven't seen the OEM version....am weighing that style vs. the 'grill' type that other manufacturers are offering.
After 600mls of pure off road stuff, I can tell you that the headlight protection saved my headlights, more than once. Riding fast behind a bunch of lunatics can be dangerous. I have two bruises on my biceps area from the roost... You imagine what was happening in the front. Grill vs plexi... Matter of taste I guess.
I noticed few marks on the hydraulic fluid protection. Probably from the rear tire. Mud was everywhere.
I hope I helped you.

Finished adding the aftermarket bling/farkles and took her to the West desert to finish the break-in miles.
I had some choices:

I chose dirt. ;)

One can really get flying out there. Some pleasant surprises:

:lamp: Stability/planted feeling is far better on this motorcycle than a 12GS. Least for me.
:lamp: Tourance EXPs performed much better than expected off-pavement. Nonetheless, I've got some Mitas and Karoo 3 rubber downstairs waiting to go on. I think Mitas will bring it all home.
:lamp: TC Off is nice.

I got tired of the windshield wellnuts getting chewed up everytime I moved them, so I picked up an extra batch. I now have a nut in every hole, so I can move my windshields to any position. With the air getting cool here, I have the stock shield back on, in the highest position. Still get some buffeting, but it's not too bad. One of these days, I'll get the wind wings and a Parabellum...
