Well my white led running lights came... To say they are bright is a understatement!

They are 11 watt Osram bulbs... They may be too long, they fit, we shall see of there's any melting. They are 34mm long.

Here's before and after:

Shocking I know but TC was on at the high setting. TC is no substitute for riding inside the envelope of physics. I stepped out of them.

Friction mark from the rear tire on the road was approximately 15 feet in length. You can clearly see that I was over on the left edge of the tire and you can see the tread pattern on the roadway. Full knobbies slide from too much power while lean over with a tire not suited for that condition. Rider error and a good reminder to always be aware of the bike's limitations in a given environment. Complacency combined as I ride that section of road and that turn nearly daily. Less than a half mile from home.

Actually I was on my way to doing just that. My rotation took me past 90 degrees and there was this mini van and, well, time and distance.......I opted to not go that direction this time. Next time though that mini van is getting a knobbie stripe right over the top of it!!

And I love the K60's too.

But I don't trust me enough to turn off tc on pavement. That blinky is my parachute.
I'm the same way with a worn K60. I do find those provide some extra adrenaline shots in aggressive cornering. But I just rode The Snake last Sunday with a newish K60 and had TCS off with had zero problems. I won't do that when I'm 4K miles into the K60, but during the first few thousand I've never experienced anything that gave me any concern.

I did the TB adjustment and sync'd them.

At first I was thinking, "Ok. This is nice but not a huge difference. Bike just feels a little 'looser' which is cool"

Then I got stuck in a classic Atlanta traffic jam for 45 minutes of clutch work. Thats when I realized how bad the on/off throttle was in stock form. Now that its been adjusted, the bike is so smooth. After I was finally able to get off the interstate I started noticing how much nicer it was from light to light and even low speed turns were more predictable.

So far for the city living test, it gets 2 major thumbs up! ::008:: ::008::

-one concern. Whilst sitting in traffic and the engine started warming up over 210 degrees, I did notice an ever so slight stumble at idle. It was very small and not enough to worry about right now I dont think, but I will be keeping an eye on it.

Fitted my Whelan TIR3 in place of the reflector. I used the Pigtail from Eastern Beaver. Check the pig tail before you install that the colors match. On mine the Blue and the Black were reversed. One thing about the TIR3, I would have liked to have a series of flashes followed by steady on. Does not have this so I had to pick a not too annoying sequence. As these are meant for LEOs I guess they do not need what I would like to have. Nice and bright though.
Fitted my Holan Headlight guard. ::015::

::015:: Just arrived from Nick at Stoltec Moto, a beautiful model 8983 Penske with 250-lb spring. I need to review the forum's mounting and set-up instructions for this shock, but you know what I'm doing tomorrow!

Sorry, guys, I meant 850-lb spring. The 250 figure is me with gear and pannier contents.

Spooned on the K60's today. Front was easy, rear took a bit of effort on the last bit of bead I needed to press down. The rear cush drive/hub reassembly can go to hell though. In 10-12k miles when the rear's shot, rather than fight it I'm removing the 4 acorn nuts on the drive shaft housing and pulling it all out if I have to finesse the gears back in there like I had to today.

There are very minor low speed vibes, but I expect them to go away after awhile. Plus the wife like's them :D Anyway, the vibes are trivial compared to d606's and tkc 80's.

Took 35grams up front near the valve stem to balance out and 21grams near the valve stem on the rear to balance.

Fun times - I should really invest in a no mar station but changing tires is a good way to bring you back to reality sometimes. I enjoy doing it.

Karson, a trick that has helped me get the rear wheel, hub drive, etc back on is to insert the axle temporarily from the wrong side and use it to support the wheel as you slide it into the housing gears. Once it is in mesh, you can slide it out and insert it from the correct side.
