How are you attaching the RAM mount above the gauges? I really want to mount my phone there but I can't see how it mounts there?
Glad I took pics...

I am using the RAM Ball that accepts a 1/4-20 screw, so I had to bore the stock hole slightly.I then cut out the dished area on the stock cover so it would slide past the RAM. If you didn't want to do that part, you could always epoxy a nut to the underside of the hole, and use a threaded RAM ball instead. There is a little bit of movement due to the length of the arm I am using. I also found it easier to remove the gauge cluster if I removed the headlight shroud first.

The excess cable in the pic is for the iPhone charger. I got the Belkin one and simply plug it into the stock outlet.

(not as blingy as OEM caps in my opinion. But they actually do what you expect)

Looks like they need a special spanner to pull the cap for service?

You don't think those are as "blingy" as the OEM caps? I had to look up the urban dictionary definition of "blingy"...and I think you must be "whack". If Ohlins isn't more bling than anything else on the market something is wrong.

First, I didn't know bling was a real word,...in the dictionary even?

And if it is, you can bet I likely misused it.

Way down here words can get tortured, both their meaning and their pronunciation. We are famous for it and I am one of the worst offenders, according to my wife's Yankee family. (They make me say words for their entertainment)

So I will clarify what I was trying to say.

Private jet lands. 2 guys get out. Each of their cars have been pulled up to the wing.
One has a red Ferrari
The other a silver Maserati.

Both cars have the same drive train. (Ferrari built V8)

The Maserati is very understated. Can get lost in traffic. The Red Ferrari sticks out like a sore thumb.

One of them is less blingy. That's what I mean. :)

I think the Ohlins caps are understated. Less blingy.

Oh, I wasn't complaining. Not really.

I'm staring out the window of a Best Western at it now. Gonna go ride! Think I'll run to San Antonio and hug my mom.

I dunno man, look at all of that laser engraving! I mean, they wrote "Ohlins" on it not once, not twice, heck not even thrice but FOUR...count em...FOUR times!

You can't spell "Ohlins" without "OH!"

Let's see, you live in Texas and you are heading to San Antonio...what's that? 400? 700 miles? LOL

When I rode to MotoGP in Austin from NJ almost 15% of the mileage was in Texas alone!

Yea, skipping from town to town in this state is measured in 100's. :)

Rode 445 miles since I left the house. But I'm only about 220 away from home at this second.

However, I usually don't take the short route. I figure it will be a 700 mile jaunt for the weekend total.
The Ohlins are settling in though. Or, at least, I'm getting use to them and can identify what they are doing.

But thanks for explaining why I should be more impressed with the caps. I'm learning.

Make sure you play with those Ohlins. Use the adjustments. They will make you go "Oh".

I saw your other post. Isn't it just insane how good a bike can be with serious suspension? You just can't put it into words. If I could, everyone would have aftermarket suspension.

I got the Ohlinizd forks installed yesterday. Then mowed the lawn, fixed a faucet and did not even get the sag set let alone go for a ride. Today for sure!

Parked it for the first time in 8 days.
My butt is tired after a week long ride chasing Park stamps from Indiana throughout Illinois, Missouri south through Arkansas and Louisiana. East and south through Alabama, Florida. North through Georgia, South Carolina to North Carolina. Rode 60 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway to the Smokie Mountain National Park. Through the Gates of Hell in Pigeon Forge and then home.
Total 3050 GPS miles on the Tenny.

IL, the land of straight, flat, boring roads
After having my bike up on stands for two weeks, I got it back together this week. The ECU was in California at EC Unleashed and the forks were in Pennsylvania at Stoltec. I also had recently sold my 20 inch Parabellum screen and bought a 22 inch Parabellum, so I had lots of new toys to try out when I got it all assembled.

In another post I related how very much impressed I was with the Gen 2 flash and would recommend that if anybody is on the fence about this to definitely go for it. I also had previously installed an Ohlins shock which helped the rear of the bike considerably, but have always thought that the front needed help even more than the rear, as the high speed compression damping is way too high for my tastes, especially when traversing the many rustic rural roads that I like to ride around home. As for the screen. I liked the 20 inch Para on my Wasp bracket, but wanted to be able to adjust in a little more height for inclement weather.

Well, in short, it feels like I have a new bike! This thing runs incredibly well and S mode is a hoot. Also, the new springs and valves that Nick installed certainly did the trick for me, as now it rides and handles just as I hoped it could with decent suspension. I am very excited and pleased with the upgrades and can't wait to start adding to the 20,000 miles I already have on this great bike, which just got a whole lot greater. ;D
