Replaced all the brake pads with Brembo Red in an attempt to up the stopping power. Lever effort doesn't seem to produce corresponding braking, imo. I think the oe pads are designed for both longevity and to reduce dust rather than stopping power. I'd guess the pads I removed were good for 30k miles at least.

Also replaced the spark plugs - one area the GS has the S10 beat hands down.

Over all though I'm pleasantly surprised how easy maintenance is on the bike. ::012::

Installing new Bridgestone Adventure A40 tires. I've never run these tires before but they look good.

The rear didn't need any weight to balance. Looks like the front is taking 14 grams of stick on weight. Not bad at all.
I also needed new rear brake pads at 47,302 miles.

Not totally gone but it's time and much cheaper that new rotors.

As all my various accessories have their own fuse systems, i didn't mount my fuse box, but instead mounted two remote ( if i can use that term) battery posts, ran a single line from the battery and attached all the accessories to them. I insulated them with liquid tape and everything is good. ::021::

Installed a Throttle Tamer last night on my 14 non-ES and lubed the cables while I was in there. Much smoother transition from zero throttle on the way to work today. Short ride, but will test further this weekend.

Regarding the throttle tamer, has anyone installed one with the factory heated grips? I'm concerned about damaging the heating element. Any tips?

Be concerned with the very nice Leftside Storm Ind bag. A friend (Long Island NY) had his Tenere knocked over in a gas station (Garberville CA). I found him along a road in the Lost Coast with a damaged radiator. When his Tenere was knocked over the bag was pushed through the engine guard and pressed the fan against the radiator. The radiator was damaged and would not hold water. He eventually was towed to Eureka where the radiator and other parts were replaced. Three days and $900ish dollars later he was good to complete his Cross America trip.

Beware of what you put in the bags.

Torso height plays a role with windscreen height too. Two riders of identical height, but different torso heights can have vastly different windscreen experiences.

Performed TB sync. It was pretty close, just required a small adjustment. Re glued left side heated grip. 5 min epoxy lasted a couple weeks. It bonded to the handlebar but not to the plastic inside of the grip. Tried Loctite Stik'n Seal Adhesive. Time will tell if it works.

We did agree to meet at Romney in a few months with both of us riding a Tenere.
