Success... I have had my badonkadonk on the Super Tenere Saddle for 160 000 kms, that's 100 000 miles,
5 years, almost to the day, in the making... just think what I could do if I lived someplace without effing winter.....
Took me a sec, I'd never seen that written out... badonkadonk. ::26::

Since I moved my X-Grip out to the handlebars (Ram mount under the right side mirror), I had my phone pop out once on the freeway; thankfully, my power cord was attached and kept it with me on the bike! Since then, I added a simple rubber band to help keep it in place.
Exact same thing happened to my new iPhone 6s. It landed on my leg and I was able to pull over and put the phone in my pocket. When I returned home I ordered the rubber butterfly.

I have the same setup. Mine has never lost grip of the phone but I also have a large rubber case on my phone. I think the rubber on rubber grip really holds it in place.
I have a Speck case on mine (holds up to 3 cards along with the phone), but the only rubberized portions are for the buttons.

Busy in the pole barn the last few days. Just bought a used '14ES and had to dress it up. I removed the OEM pannier racks and installed SW Motech racks. Added the top rack and adapter for the Trax Adventure Box. Put on a set of Altrider Crashbars and joint cover. Upgraded to the Madstad WS bracket. Wired in a PDM60, and added three accessories to it: PIAA LED driving lights, Garmin Zumo, and a dual USB setup near the back of the bike for my wife's charging needs. It felt liberating to cut off the relays and fuses. Grip puppies and a riser for the handlebars. Rounded it off with a Fenda Extender and extensions for the passenger foot pegs. Oh, and a Yamha tank bag for quick access to all my goodies, and an RS tool case. Just waiting on one last shipment....my 45L right side adventure case and some winglets. Spending money is fun.

I had my Saddlemen Adventure track seat recovered. I really like the seat but I wasn't a huge fan of the materials they used. Strange that I had the same seat on my Vstrom but the materials were different. More like a faux suede but on the Tenere seat, it was more like a really durable terrycloth. Soaked up water and stayed wet.

The new seat.

Today was the longest biking day, with the least amount of mileage, an expensive bill and...
the end of 81 consecutive riding days, which sucks cause the sun is scheduled to shine for the next week straight, no rain...
62 kilometres today, 45 minutes in the saddle, bike wobbles, pull over [maybe not the best spot] to find a
flat rear tire, checked it about three times and cannot see any culprit, and then, I discover a torn valve stem...

I need a rescue, smart phone, internet, closest shop, wait, wait, wait, about 2 hours bored out of my mind by the side of the road waiting...
but two different people did stop to ask if I needed help, bonus points for humanity...
rescued, yea, except they can't fix it because they have no Super Tenere tires in stock, but can get them by Tuesday.

I need a rescue, called my dealer, wait some more...
rescued, bike at my dealer, inside safe and warm, but still no tires until Tuesday,
but in this case it will be the tires I want, Avon TrailRiders, at a reasonable price, but no riding for the next 3 days...

And I ain't even mad,
disappointed yes,
but sometimes things conspire for other reasons... so I know where I will be on Sunday, but I'll leave that for another post.....

Finally found a fabrication shop to build a replacement lid for my Wendell Case. Dropped off the box yesterday, along with the other pannier lid for them to use as a reference.

I installed 45 degree metal stems to avoid that issue at the first tire change, makes it much easier to check tire pressure or add air, got mine off eBay.

Ouch! Hell of a way to end a journey like that and thank you for reminding me to add valve stems to my tire kit. With a sincere wish for safe travels home.

Took a nice long ride today to test out the new Laam seat. No pain or numbness. Just sweat! 95 and humid. Stopped off at the BMW dealer to cool off and look. His inventory has gone down quite a bit since the .9 financing. Still think the S10 is a better value, but man, those 2016 GSA's sure look nice.

Last year the wife and I got stranded in Raddison Quebec for 6 days waiting for a tire after I blew the side wall out of my K 60. No cell service and no traffic she had to ride 30km to the emergency phone and we waited 3 hrs for the tow truck . I even rode her bike to the local dump looking for somthing used. That tire ended up costing around $1000 by the time we where back on the road.

Today I put my RAM mount X-Grip on my new S10 and checked the tire pressure (as I do before any afternoon of riding). Good thing I checked the pressure, because the front and rear were both ~25 PSI. The dealership I bought it from said they checked the bike over completely and that it was ready to ride. Moral of the story, don't trust anyone...because it's your BUTT on the line. I rode about 80 miles yesterday after trailering it home, and it never felt that bad. I guess I got lucky. Up to 150 miles on the bike now...so I'm getting good break in miles on the clock already.
