Cruised through a flock of what I thought were turkey vultures >:D on a curvy farm road, they turned out to be turkeys. Almost made a bad mistake ::010::. For those that have not experienced them...turkey vultures fly off. Turkeys run around in circles and try to get on your Tenere with you. Very dumb of me, I was lucky to make it through without making some jerky.
I can't be the only one who thought of this classic:

WKRP "As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly" Thanksgiving

That's pretty funny Dirt Dad. As reported though turkeys fly quite well when they want to, but they take off low and slow.

Tested the beer carrying capacity of the rear OEM case. Yes it will hold a 24 pack of tall boys.
I like your priorities. ::015::

I mounted up a set of Mitas E07s I bought from Motorace and changed out the rear brake pads. Managed to get a 200 mile ride in the N GA mountains this morning. First impressions of the new tires are really good. This is my third set of tires. OEM Battlewings made it 5k miles and a set of K60s were shot at 9k miles. Of the three tires I already like these the best. Really curious to see how many miles I make on these. I am hoping for close to 5k miles. We will see.

Just got home from a ride to Redding, Ca and back to Medford, Or. We went through Mcloud and Berney to Redding. Stopped at In n Out Burger then Blasted Back up I-5 To home. Was a very Hot in the Redding this after noon. Not to bad here in Medford, 83 Degrees. Redding was 104 ???. Love the ST, it handles like a sport bike but is a very comfy seat to site on for hours. What a great machine ::022::. Total miles today 368. Total miles sense purchasing the Bike on MAy 29, 2014, 4959 ::001::. Best Bike ever.

Belated entry: Sent Kees's dyno- deveoped map to the PCV in my catless header setup. She really rips now, but fuel economy decreased by 4MPG! Ordered a map switch, so I can have both 'sip' and 'guzzle' modes.

Thankfully no damage to the bike. It's a hawk. That was stuffed into a dumpster after the delicate extrication. ::025::

I hated that I hit it. I was rolling along about 60 mph and it flew up out the ditch right into my path.

okie,
that sucks hitting a bird. It can be scary when they pop up like that. They are not paying attention when they hunt.
Hitting anything alive sucks, but worse when it is a cool animal like a hawk. Not at all sad if it were a rat or a rat with wings {pigeon}...

Glad you are ok and the bike is ok. ::012::

How did you get the name clevermonkey? ;D
Because i realized I could save several hundred dollars by getting used trax cases, in this case off a DRZ. That's why the big case is on the left. Practically it works because the heaviest thing I carry ( my work computer which at 9lbs is pushing the term "laptop") goes in the small case, the big case is usually stuffed with jackets, PFDs and hard hat and the like. This setup puts the heavier load inboard, although it does look ungainly... But hell it's an ST, about as pretty as the south end of a northbound Rottweiler .

Sw motech says you can mount the reversed, but that means the only thing holding your box to the bike is the latch, as the brackets face the other way.
