"What caused the irregular wear" ?
High speed.

I just ran up the California coast and thru many miles of twisty roads. My tires looked fine. Even & round.
The I left Cali at Bridgeport and headed thru Nevada thru Vegas and back to Phoenix.

At a stop just before Vegas my tire looked like that after doing a the run on hwy 6 to hwy 95 all at +80-90mph
Then I hit wind and had to slow a bit. The tire improved a little. As i got home after that 700 mile run it still looks funky but it still shows wear very much the same as the others.
Mine is a V rated. Is that a softer combound?

I will run it at the same presures(32 front). And i bet it will wear back in even.

My TKC80 does this too at high speed.

Howdy,
I think I might of heard pieces of the "answer" from a couple of different replies besides air pressure being the culprit, though I do think some maybe running their 3's a little high. Speed rating and driving at high speeds. I'm not sure if anyone noticed when they replaced their OEM Bridgestones but they did have a "V" rating. Who is running a pair of 3's with the V rating and what are you seeing for tread wear especially if you spend a lot of time at high speeds?

Mine are a V-rated set, as I specifically ordered them that way. Highway cruising speeds are pretty quick down here in Texas, and we have real high temps, too, so I prefer to specify V-rated rubber for my Super Tenere. After all, that's what Yamaha recommends for it, and that's what it comes with whether it is equipped with the Bridgestone's or the Metzeler's (as mine was).

I've never run higher than 36 with my Anakee 3's, and now run them almost religiously at 32 to 33 PSI, and as you can see from my posted pictures above I am *NOT* having the odd-patterned wear issue.
