Stickers to proudly display on my Super Tenere is what I am hoping for. Great discussion item at a mtorcycle gathering or roadside stop.

Cover letter to go with the posters;

To the Staff and Management at Yamaha Motor Company, Japan;

We are a group of Super Ténéré owners in Canada and the United States. We have recently received our Super Ténéré and are thrilled with the performance and features of the motorcycle. Yamaha design engineers have done a fantastic job.

But more than that, we want to express our gratitude to the workers and management who, in uncertain times in the aftermath of the tragedy that struck your country, still managed to build and deliver the motorcycle only two months later than the originally projected date. We wish Yamaha continued success, and your countrymen a swift recovery from the recent disaster. The spirit of the Japanese people is an example to the world.

We would appreciate it if you could display these posters in locations where workers will see them, so that they know their work is appreciated.

Please excuse any errors in translation – it is computer generated.

Sincerely,
Members of yamahasupertenere.com forum

Funny, I thought about that - we've all probably used the plural "teneres" but I'm not sure that's correct. I have a gut feeling that the plural of "tenere" is "tenere". Anyone have a definitive answer?

Thanks, but as Masako said, probably quite a few people there will read english - at least I think the people receiving correspondence will - so probably a Google translation is good enough. And I warned them about it in case of any gross errors :D

Jaxon thanks for all your efforts on this as well. You are doing a great job and it's awesome you jumped in like you did.
Im still so excited about this bike, its the least I can do to say thanks to Yamaha... The banners should be ready to pick up tomorrow or Monday. I will take several different pictures and post them up for people to see before they are packed and shipped to Japan. Along with the cover letter im asking for pictures that we then can post. Im looking at shipping the first of next week, and should be at there office by Thursday or Friday. I will post when its confirmed the package has arrived at the Headquarters. Thanks to all the participants on the forum that take part in the donations to this cause. Im more than happy to try and take part as much as I can. Its the least I can do to a very satisfied customer and a very large THANK YOU YAMAHA MOTOR CO..... And big props to our art designer Trevor ! Thanks guys......................

Wow... this blows my mind...

"Tinariwen" is the plural of "Ténéré" and the word "Ténéré" means desert but not only desert,also "country" or "countryside" the group has being together since 1979 and were living in Tamanrasset in the south of algeria. then after a complex sequence of events they came back to Mali to fight a rebellion in 1990

So, are we all enjoying our Super Tinariwen?

I love this music, BTW... They are Tinariwen... and will be in LA September 30

Right guys, I'm going to be collecting the money for this...

Cost for 3 posters plus shipping is going to be around $170. Anything we collect over that amount we will donate to a charity working in Japan (open to suggestions as to which one).

You can send to my paypal account - trevangel (at) gmail.com. I'll then send money to Tabasco to pay his costs, and post a receipt here for any amount that we have been able to donate. Sound OK?

Put a note in in your donation if you want a copy of the file. It's 40"x28" but only 2mb. I can resize for you if you want it smaller, so just mention whatever size you want.

Let's get this done!

Trevor

Are you comfortable posting a mailing address for those of us who don't use PayPal, or should I PM someone? Thanks. R
